Anime games have a stupidly high barrier of entry.
I can get into SF easily because I can just hop straight online and trial and error my way to good normals and approximately optimal combos.
With anime games I have to write notes, comb through frame data, look up combos and setups for each situation, etc. It's too much.
I don't feel like I'm having fun with anime games because I have to go through the trainingboar phase and the theory fighter phase and by the time I'm ready to play online the game is already dead.
