Yes, it's fine to. Once tomes become farmable never[/spioiler] it'll be nice to have even a small amount of progress done. There's no reason to ever give a farmable unit a tome.

unfarmable legends/units should be the only units receiving tomes

This isn't Dokkan. And Garp has a decent amount of use as a beefy PSY Fighter/Powerhouse. Not everyone has SW Shanks/Sengoku, Garp is a fine captain for the less fortunate.

So, how are we all doing the Sand Sand ranking?
I tried with PH Sanji, used his Special and 6 matching orbs with Jabra, got about 1.6 million.
Not sure how to do a whole ton better.

Garp's Special actually does something and he has way better stats.
He's still pretty rubbish but he's the only Psy Captain. He's a mile better than fucking Shanks.

Corazon is a pretty amazing legend for a starting player, he can clear every forest, and most raids.

he lacks the power farming of other legends though.

but he works really well when uses with legends like Log Luffy.

Even with full board orbs, Mr.1's boost is insufficient. You need Koza or 3D2Y Zoro for the team to work.

Guessing that needs some serious orb luck and a max Doffy, I've got a whole ton of neither.

It needs a maxed Doffy, a skilled up Koza and 4 green orbs, Mr.1 is insufficient.
I think there are apps that can collage it, but it doesn't need to be pretty.

He isn't as bad as people make him out to be.

His 2x bonus works for every unit and class, and he is near unkillable.

for a starting legend, he will let you clear every forest and raids we currently have..

the Raids you may have issues with would probably be Aokiji, but you pulled Shanks who steam rolls it.

With this team. I actually fail my perfects that run, when I completed it I had all matching orbs.

I'm assuming you don't have G3,so:
G3 + Sadi or Mr.Prince captain and Doffy sub. (Keep in mind you can bring a defence reducer for Sadi special.)

The rest is up to you:
Slasher: Koza or Mr.1
Striker: Aokiji
INT: Robin
etc.

Burst on the last stage: There are two versions of it, but both have one QCK and several PSY enemies.

I do have G3, but I can't really think of a way to orb fuck it so I get 2.4 million damage. G3 makes stalling orbs next to impossible.

They clear the most content, so pay off the most in the long run.

Sort of. He's just, proper busted.
He's the only 100% clear character I think, quickly followed by Sengoku and Enel.
His Matching orbs to his own type also on a 2.75* captain is just genuinely broken.
Free units just need to be Fighters and he does all the rest.
