Is there a modern day equivalent to the 2JZ-GTE

Is there a modern day equivalent to the 2JZ-GTE
anything that has close performance reliability and over engineering to allow modification and boost?

ITT: fucktard ricers

the closest modern equivalent is a big lump of dog shit cast in solid iron

>mad

the LSx

Wrong. The correct answer is the modular ford engine.

Dude is running pro mod times with a stock 281 cubic inch ford engine

Caiooti

>Needing boost to hit minivan power levels

This. The 4L Barra straight six is one of the greatest engines for holding boost post 2000

I don't think you have any idea what he was referring to.

why not just 2jz-gte today?

i know this is bait but i think the 2000hp avus supra has stock block

The turbo 4 in the Mustang would be a pretty solid bet.

Atlas 4200 Vortec

You could buy an aluminum 2JZ block, and just build from there.

Insanely expensive though.

Ford barra is the modern day 2jz

...

Can't find one for cheap without a shitload of miles on it

Ignoring the fact the 2JZ is an iron block inline 6, the closest thing in performance, reliability, and engineering is GM's Ecotec 4 cylinder.

honestly probably just some fucking filthy american v8

>fucking filthy

i clean.

>forgot pic.

4L ford barra engine, here you can pick them up for piss all, because ex taxi motor, just slp on a turbo

That's a Vortec I6 in a Trailblazer, not a Vortec V8.

As mentioned earlier, for Ausfaggots these are the best modern day option that meats OP's criteria.
They lack the upper RPM limits and throttle response of the JZ and RB sixes, but still being sold to this day for the last 14 years, they are plentiful, effortlessly torquey (on the bright side of a slower revving long stroke engine) and have had so much aftermarket RnD with build methods, results and reliability well documented.

Personally I prefer the Gen 4 powered Commodores in terms of driving pleasure, but if you're after a stop light warrior with easily attainable RWHP, the Turbo Falcons are hard to beat.

Eh, the standard atmo Barras are piss weak if you're trying to boost them. May as well start with an already running XR6T.

>Atlas I6

My nigga. Such an under appreciated engine.

my nigger

Those wheels look fuckin awful

Some people are tuning BMW 335is up over 800hp on stock bottom ends

they're steelies for compact spares

people ask me why they would put a turbo 4-cyl in the new camaro. this is why

Well they make the car look bad

With any degree of consistency or longevity? Regardless, I'd be more than happy with a mild 400rwhp out of a twin tarbo Bimmer.

no idea m8, even stock they're not that reliable lol

ya daft cunts leave the bara alone no need to hoon em fucking too late ;_l;

They are reasonably reliable but a few parts need to be changed for longevity. Stock tuned will probably last 30k under 400hp before something goes wrong, likely a seal.
I know engines with turbos swapped for a single and all seals done with aftermarket at around 600hp that have lasted 50k

Aussie Barra i6

Ah so what. Bring on the twin tarbo Ecoboost.
Personally, I'm not really interested in something that's limited to tens of thousands of miles. I'll stick to boosting my M30.
