It's next week not today

Ha, i actually was that week, hence the jps
Yeah, theyre not good, they were cheap tho
Still better than some homegrown tobacco.
I'm just getting into lures. I just bought one of those Ecogear SX40 minoes. Been hanging to chase some bream with it, but I need a rod that's responsive enough to cast a 2.5g lure first...
What are your favourite combos for freshwater?
I've been using a $40 Abu Garcia, 6ft 6 inches Muscle tip spin rod, even with 40lb braid and heavy sinkers/lures it flicks them around like nothing and is hella sensitive with small lures and rigs. Have a small ass Pfleuger Asaro spin reel for it too. Had a rig with 2 hooks and caught 2 carp over 70cm at once on it so I'm pretty confident of its strength. Reel is up to you but the Pfleuger Asaro is a hardy little bastard, perfect combo for it IMO.
Fair enough. I was considering a spinning rod of around 1-4kg capacity and a 1000-2000 size reel.
I love the Abu Garcia baitcaster shit I've been using, but then you can only go so light in terms of lures on a baitcaster, so I'm thinking of throwing together a lightweight eggbeater setup.
Also hue it's a 2 piece and rated for 4-7kg, probably overkill for Bream but not bad for a cheapie.
Lightweight eggbeater setups make fishing so much more fun like you wouldn't believe. You have to actually think instead of just skulldragging in a nice fish like you normally would, gotta account for line breakage and snags and such.
Fine guess I'll just drive round the hills myself since no one in SA wants to meet.
