I was filling up at a gas station a few years back when a very nice looking Delorean pulled up to the pumps behind my car and started filling up. I suppressed my inner autism and fought the urge to go up and talk to the guy and ask a million questions about his car. After I finished filling up and was getting back into my car, some dudebro coming out from inside the store yells, "HOLY SHIT BRO IS THAT A FUCKIN DELOREAN!!! MAN THAT'S FUCKIN AWESOME, WOW!" There's no telling how long that guy had to sit there and suffer through the dudebro asking a thousand questions that he probably gets asked everywhere he goes with that car. He can't even take it to get filled up with gas without having someone sperg out on him.

It loses pretty much all appeal to me if it's not in the original bare metal color.

nobody goes out of their way to drive a Delorean unless they are ready and eager to talk for hours about their special snowflake car.
