Why is there only one female beast patient in the entire hunter's nightmare? You'd think there would be more considering they're stronger and more dangerous than the males.

The giant ones are all females and are capable of granting nearby beasts a health, damage and poison buff. The smaller females have poison powers that the males don't unless buffed as well as a flurry attack.

Well they scale better with STR, so I would go more 50/30 or 50/25. Depends on the level you want to stop at though. You could very well just go 50/50 and then pump VIT

Guys you said the Boomhammer did good damage like the Tonitrus. I have flawless Nourishing gems on my 25 STR/ 50 ARC build and it does less than my poorly gemmed Fire Whirligig.

You can do well enough with just 25. Skill would add more damage to the Moonlight Sword at that point, not sure about the Wheel though. More Arcane could be another option.

Honestly I just want the max possible damage per hit for PvE (since I co-op a lot) while still being viable in PvP

25/25/50 Str/Skl/Arc is what I'd go with. 25/50 Str/Arc hits pretty hard already.

I already have a build going for the stats you recommended, but gave up on it at about lvl 70. Not sure why.
The prospect of farming nourishings probably.

FRC Amygdala is piss easy with a fire Stake Driver and Oil Urns. With 2 Cold Abyssals and an optimal Fire gem you can 3-shot Amy if you know how to jump cheese and land oiled charged R2s.
