The only theoretical counter is completely overwhelming her cooldowns which ISNT FUCKING POSSIBLE if she stays with her team. I'm so sick of this fucking mongoloid metagame hero, there isn't a single hero you can fucking pick when she gives you massive problems. And don't even fucking dare mention short-ranged, free-energy Reaper.
You also can't prevent her from getting energy if she just times her shields and then she will rip 6 new fucking assholes with her insanity damage.

I play solo, mostly play Zarya or Roadhog, if you feel you can carry, Roadhog just shits on everything. If its going to be a hard game, Zarya, save your ally shields to save them from doing stupid shit like getting hooked, don't spam them out trying to get high energy.

You can not say Zarya is only good against stupid opponents because she sees play even in high-level games. She is not Mei. She just deals too much damage for a tank and gets charge too fast. Her shields should give 30 max charge instead of 50 or last for shorter time. Right now you can shield yourself and a teammate at the start of an engagement and start with 70-100 energy no problem.

if genji's ult charged as slow as zarya's there would be less complaining

Solo you can climb up to 60 playing almost anything including bastion.

you can say that about any character. I do not see why Zarya's viability is more reliant on smart teammates than the viability of other characters. I can shield a retard who got hooked by Roadhog and get 50 energy just fine. The only requirement is for them to have two braincells and shoot the fuckers caught in the Grav surge.

Difference between high ranked players and low ranked shitters is that in high ranks people just focus any retard overextending with zarya shield and he just dies. It is only a serious problem when reaper/genji/pharah ults.
