I want to feel the warmth of her body and her slightly drunk breath as she tries to line up the cue for a shot. I want to call her ordinary-looking and mention other girls I talk to see her eyes light up with jealousy.
One night, she will silently sneak over to the kitchen. Walking back into my room, a shining sliver of a blade will be extending from her clenched fist. It would be easy - right between my ribs, rupturing the heart, death would come almost instantly. But something is wrong. Her hand stops halfway, and begins to shake violently, as if the knife itself wants to jump out and pierce my chest. One by one, her trembling fingers let go of the hilt, and with a soft thud, the knife falls onto the carpet. She throws herself on me and buries her face right where the knife should have gone, her hands grabbing at the fabric of my clothes. Her whole body is shaking feverishly and I scoop her body into my arms and tell her that everything will be okay, just like usual. Her silent sobbing turns to wailing that echoes out into the dimly lit corridors beyond my door.

I try but it's still a constant struggle of failures. Right now I'm trying to make my proportions more appealing after how badly they went over in the last thing I drew, even though this should be something I already know.
But if you want to improve then the best thing to do is draw every day and work on your fundamentals before you try to apply animu style to it. You've probably heard this before but you can't properly stylize something until you properly understand how it works. Take eyes for instance. If you don't understand how a real eye works then you're not going to be able to simplify it down into something appealing.
Sadly, it's not a quick and easy journey, or even a linear one. There'll be times when you regress and get worse before you get better. The more you learn, the more you realize you don't know. Plus getting good at art is a two part process. The more obvious part is how good you are at actually drawing things. The more overlooked part is how good you are at perceiving and understanding art. This is often just as important, if not more important, yet it develops separately from your actual drawing skill. This graph demonstrates how that works.

Anybody can do that with a bit of effort. It's useful for studying and getting used to certain workflows, but it's not a replacement for anything. It's not a case of you being bad, it's a case of you not being good - yet. Nobody starts off good and everybody, besides literal prodigies, is going to be worth trash shit when they first start.
People will tell you that talent doesn't exist, and in a sense they're right because everybody has to put in that effort to learn and improve. But what they overlook is that talent is really a measure of how intuitively a person can pick up a skill. It's not like talent in danganronpa, after all. Some people can learn easier than others, but everyone is capable of learning with enough effort and resolve.

For some oddly, phenomenal reason, no game has ever been "ruined" by a newbie. At least in my experience. And playing with randoms? On the main and sandbox lobbies? Eh.. they're a bit on the edge, but I guess it's fine. It's a bit more different from playing with us though.
