What is the most unreliable, hard to work on, pain in the ass car?

What is the most unreliable, hard to work on, pain in the ass car?

I want a difficult project that is absolute hell to work on and repair, something that breaks down all the time, and is just as unreliable as possible.

My budget is 80k USD.

Bring it on.

Mitsubishi GTO (3000GT) VR4
Nissan 300ZX Twin Turbo
MG MGA

Any ford

Anything Italian.

BMW E32 750
BMW E31 850

1972 Opel GT.

Not really unreliable, but parts are an absolute bitch

Old Italian supercars are one of the best ways to make your life utterly miserable.

Poorly maintained FD?

Buy a Ford ranger, or a Dodge Durango, or any American car really.

V12 jaguar xj

Could always do an SVX?

Just get a Maserati.

any jaguar, or anything british for that matter

>couple things need tending to on my ranger
>no sweat, pull them out and swap them
i love my ranger. terrible post, my friend

the z32 not z31

89 Cutlass Supreme SL
Or a Bronco 2

Chrysler 300M
Everything is placed in an inconvenient way throughout the engine bay

You're going to want something midengined, a Lotus Espirit will do it

Or a rotten mr2 brought back to showroom condish.

pic very much related, do it fagget!
Quality was mediocre, parts are impossible to find and they got the typical 80s-90s Alfa reliability

Range Rover

civic/corolla

>those
>unreliable

Pay attention stupid

God you're dumb
American cars are easy as fuck to fix, like other user said parts just switch in and out without much effort unless they are rusted

Audi S4. Pic very related.

OP pls

There's wrenching and then there's masochism, you're walking the razor's edge

Z31 never came with twin turbos

does that whole chain controller run in oil?

buy the most riced out pile of shit civic, and bring it back to stock

Testarossa, non T Mondial, Maserati BiTurbo

twin tarbo FD

SL65 AMG. Poor reliability history, so it will break enough for you, but awesome car when it works. Or buy a new giulia, those sound like they'll be an electrical nightmare from the factory.

It's not submerged in an oil bath, if that's what you're referring to.

There are more than a few failure points in the system. There are the nylon guides, which are noted failure points. There are also hydraulic tensioners, which are also noted failure points.

Also, all of these failure points are on the back of the motor, right up against the transmission. Most Audi techs would rather redo Allroad air suspension ten times over than deal with one S4 timing chain system.

On that note, add the Audi Allroad to the list of hellish used cars.

No actual experience but would wager something like this, where they've pretty much balanced all the most unreliable parts on a stick and then built the whole car around them in the factory, once you've mastered something like that you'll probably speak fluent italian too.

Can understand they look like a nightmare at first sight but they're surprisingly nice to work on.

So how about an Allroad with a V8 swap for the ultimate maintenance nightmare?

He didnt say he wanted a shit car

British Leyland anything maybe ? Esp. Jaguar.

get a motherfucking yugo

Nah, commieblock cars are too dependable. Sure, they break all the time, but you can fix it in 5 minutes and if you can't, it'll get you home anyway.

Only if it's S4 V8. The rest of their V8s just have mildly annoying timing belts.

>Mitsubishi GTO
>Z32

You really swallow all the shit copy pasta from Veeky Forums spoons you. Fag.

Just because you are a poorfag and bought one for 1K, doesnt mean they are unreliable, it means you are a shit buyer and a poorfag.

>inb4 a fruund of mine had one durr

V8 audis, Most cheap Porsches and of course Ferraris.

Anything with a transverse v6

>Oh you need access to anything on the far side of the engine?
>Good luck with that

it's not that they're unreliable you dumb cunt, it's that they're a pain in the ass to work on.

i've seen people literally have to remove the engine on the Z32 to remove sparkplugs because it was easier.

Mine is pretty fucking nightmare inducing. Getting to anything is damn near impossible.

Ah yes opposite of truth troll strikes again

1993 Ford Taurus SHO.
Be sure to buy the cheapest one possible.

Lambretta, any year, any model

I know you're not talking about the engine

I'm not.
I'm talking about literally everything else about the car.

That's what I thought, cheers

Really? My dad is working on one right now, and he can find everything he needs online.

You could get a 3rd gen V8 SHO, now that I think about it.
Then you have to worry about the engine failing too.
When they typically fail, it fucks the pistons and the entire valvetrain.

you're fucktarded because there's no more timing chains than in typical V-whatever

And weren't the transmissions terrible as well?

It's not just the amount of chains, it's the way they run that's retarded.

Pic related, BMW managed to figure this shit out, why couldn't VW?

>My budget is 80k USD

No it's not.

Yep.

>responding to bait

Tesla

Oh wait you can't even work on the because
>Closed source software

the "mechanical adjusters" are variable valve timing solenoids

>replying to a 4 hour old post
Wew

>Lister Jaguar XJS 7.0 Le Mans Coupe

A normal jaguar V12 is already a giant fuck you to mechanics.
I've owned one and one of my local jaguar garages rejected it because: FUCK DIFFICULT.

This beast has a drilled out 7.0 L V12 with TWIN superchargers.

The engine bay is pretty much just custom made pipes.

Spoken like someone with zero wrenching experience. Aside from the pointlessly complicated routing, the entire drive system is on the back of the motor. Have fun pulling the whole front of the car.

Then again in return you get Grandfathers clock on Steroids MANY STEROIDS

...

With your budget, probably a Ferrari 308 GTS

>BMW E32 750/BMW E31 850

>My budget is 80k USD.

If he's careful that might be just enough.

Got passed by one of those in Austria once, they make a wicked sound.

What's that in the background, xxxxl-micrometer?

Mid 90s BMW 8 series with the V12 and all the options.

My friend had one, it was awesome when it worked but everything from the trim to the weird little primitive computers broke.
