>going to pickup a friend, starts drizzling
>drive over an overpass going 20-25mph
>on top I see the traffic light at the end of the road is turning red
>tight turn on steep road
>hear a faint music in the distance
>ease of the throttle
>the music is getting louder
>manage to distinguish some words
>DEJA VU
>car oversteers
>try to compensate to avoid the cars coming from the other direction
>car suddenly regains traction whipping in the other direction
>do a full 180 hitting the sidewalk and the guardrail
>car finally stops
>after failing to move it have to get out from the window because door won't open
>left front wheel perfectly bent 90 degrees
>call tow truck, had it removed, get home and write this

Toyota Yaris 2003 1.0 with 130k miles so not much of a loss, but it was a reliable shitbox and I put a lot of care into it, recently replaced oxygen sensors and air filter

This is why you practice losing grip in big empty parking lots so you know how to control understeer and oversteer. I've been in the same situation but I held the drift and came out of it ok.

It happened to me a couple of times on a different overpass and I managed to hold it both times, but the turn on this overpass is way more steep and tight, reacted on instinct and overcompensated
