I just got started over the weekend after playing last year for a little while, lost all my progress because new phone. The stuff offscreen here is just a purple crab and some shit, I try to keep all the non-fodder characters favourited even if they're shit. I'm stuck on Laboon in the story, should I just fuck around with the extra island or what? Already did a couple of the easier runs just to check it out but I don't feel like it's worth using the limited stamina I have right now. I heard I should just grind for Arlong, is that right? Should I be keeping my fodder instead of just feeding them to the cheapest character? Should I pull and hope for a good one?

Welcome back. Do not pull outside of sugofests and farm fortnights if you're stuck on the story, they're better exp per stamina and fortnight characters drop more consistently on 5 stamina than story characters do in any chapter. You should usually just feed turtles/pigs/extra skill books for exp instead of fodder. And reroll with the coming sugo for a decent legend.

Kyros is a completely acceptable starter, so you really don't need to reroll.

Just don't come crying when you hit day 500 without a legend.

Yeah he's gotten me through a lot with his captain ability, he seems like he'd become pretty useless soon though. What's an optimal team that I could make out of the crap I have? Up until now I've been struggling with crew size limits, there's not much I can do without dropping a guy completely.

When you evolve Kyros, his captain ability will boost everything by 2.5x except for legends and evolved raid bosses. That's far from useless at any stage but the very late game.

You'd obviously be better off with a Sengoku, but you aren't in dire need of help getting through the early game if you don't want to wait another 2 or 3 weeks to start playing.

Extra island has evolvers on each day of the week except the weekends and Mondays. Much better off farming them there.

Your units are underleveled. All you really need to do is do your turtle times every single time they pop up and start pumping them up.

He is really good for the returning Hachi & Camie island, where you cant use any raids or legends

The advantage to Kyrios is he is units 30 cost and under which is every unit that isn't a raid or legend.

It helps to bring people with fixed damage specials on low cooldown, but anyone with a high combo is sufficient.
