They're usually longer if important or shorter if the common route is the focused story. You can also say it's half and half with common being the middle and the character routes filling to the end.

Finally found a way to produce quick desert backgrounds. Shaved the process down to 10-20 minutes for each. They're not spectacular but they do the job so I'm satisfied.

Yeah, of course. They were made to help visualize the exploration mechanic in my game, so they don't need to be refined at this stage.

The eventual backgrounds will look more like this, with and additional 15-20 mins work. I'm saving that for later because I'd rather have everything down first before refining.
