So I really want to get a BRZ or the new GT86. Seriously, one of the best looking cars out there. Small problem: my wife doesn't think they're safe and she's doesn't want me driving her son around in it.
Is this car a deathtrap? Two of my friends have them, and the performance is spectacular even stock, and I really want to join the club, so to speak.

It's a pretty bad platform. You can't get a whole lot of extra power out of the engine.
No power means downhill specialist.
