So I really want to get a BRZ or the new GT86. Seriously, one of the best looking cars out there. Small problem: my wife doesn't think they're safe and she's doesn't want me driving her son around in it.
Is this car a deathtrap? Two of my friends have them, and the performance is spectacular even stock, and I really want to join the club, so to speak.
Google it. 5*s get gud tire's and don't kick the clutch
Ian Davis
Ditch the bitch and become a mountain pass racing legend.
Nathan Davis
He will need a different car for the last part
Austin Lopez
Is it really good for touge racing? My friend seems to think this car is an amazing platform for tuning and Touring Racing etc.
Brody Adams
It's a pretty bad platform. You can't get a whole lot of extra power out of the engine.
Christian Rodriguez
No power means downhill specialist.
Benjamin Thompson
Really? He said you could get 450HP out of the engine just by adding turbo?
Eli Murphy
This is some top quality bait right here
Levi Jenkins
>safety >wife's son >spectacular
Here's your (You)
Jace Bell
I'm not following. How does this have anything to do with the performance of the car?
Samuel Torres
>not hanging up five Black Ice trees to forcibly enter the Fujiwara Zone
Chase Hernandez
Wow the bait is so obvious
Noah Torres
Please try and stay on target. We're talking about how good hte performance and safety is on the FRS/BRZ etc. If you have nothing to add please go fuck around on /b/
Isaac Butler
450 hp at the wheels or crank? Either way, you're not going to more than double the horsepower by adding a fucking turbo. Is he insane?
450 hp MAYBE if you build the engine up and have all bolt ons
Colton Ross
I have seen an article about almost 700 with injectors, ethanol and a fuel pump.
Joshua Wilson
AND A FULLY BUILT ENGINE, YES
Ethanol is a good way to burn a hole into your pistons
Jaxon Bennett
No? Ethanol eliminates knock, which kills engines. If not for ethanol it would not last 2 dyno pulls. I would post the link but Chan thinks it is spam
Kevin Martin
>my wife's son
wow haha wooow woooooooow
Jacob Clark
>subtle 'totobaru owners/lovers are cucks' thread
On that note, how's it raising the son of your wife's boyfriend?
Landon Peterson
People have sex before marriage. Get over it.
David Baker
>wife's son
Owen Bennett
You're either a monstrous cuck or this is a very soft well thought troll thread.
She doesn't care if it's actually safe or not. She wants a car that looks and feels safe, preferably also a boring to drive car so you aren't tempted to do hektik skidz.
The car is actually extremely sturdy and will keep you just as safe as an SUV, if not more. They say the frame is like a built in rollcage. What'd really make it a threat to your wive's son is you driving reckless, which she thinks you will be doing because it looks like a 500 bhp exotic supercar to her. You won't be able to convince her with logic and facts, women don't even know what sort of factors make cars safe or dangerous.
Or she outright doesn't want you to "waste money on a toy", which is actually a legitimate argument, as you can get a lot more practical cars for that money. Irresponsible choices don't make you very attractive.
I say get your BRZ/GT86 and tell her she should drive her kid herself or get his father do drive him if she doesn't trust you to drive safely with him in the car.
David Richardson
>her son Op you useless mongloid even staying virgin till death wouldnt have made you so fucking pathetic. Its about time to end yourselv
Landon Murphy
>my wife's son BRZ owners everyone
Zachary Brooks
> plebs with engines you cant double the output of
3S-GTEs make 400hp at the crank with a better turbo
Ian Edwards
Carl's wife won't let him get a brz. Are you doing summer school for English because of reading comprehension? Also marrying a mom is not making you a cuck. Unless you started dating before conception.
Anthony Rodriguez
Its a decent tuning platform yes, but just know you'll need to really build up the internals if you want to handle any kind of boost. This car would have been so much better if it had a less shit engine.
Crawford performance is one of the top Subie tuners in the US. A lot of Japs turn these into drift mobiles. So the tuning potential is there, here in the US people just go the lazy route of engine swapping, but thats because we can.
Also you're a loser cuckold
Nicholas James
Buy a Fiesta ST like the cuck you were raised to be
Adrian Long
It can handle 300 to 350 bhp easily with a simple turbo or supercharger without many mods. Squeezing out more is a chore and will get very expensive very fast. If you want a car in the 400 bph upwards range, you should probably get something with 6 or more cylinders.
Jaxon Green
I'm already there desu
Parker Gonzalez
A cuck is someone who raises another man's son.
I mean if the dad died the child needs some father figure desu just dont exhume cuckoldry around that poor lad.
Daniel Johnson
Yeah thats what I'm starting to see, but I mean its still a solid platform to build upon.
The Cosworth supercharger brings the power up in the 300 range which is pretty nice.
For what the car is, its pretty damn good. Only thing that holds it back is the engine, but hey for that price range it can't be perfect
Benjamin Hall
No, a cuck is someone who knows his wife got pregnant with another man while married. Or passes another man's son off as his. Either way op doesn't have a brz so he doesn't speak for us all.
Asher Collins
>oh is this shit again.jpg
Jack Anderson
bhp is a lame metric, you can't get an accurate number because you have no real idea how much drivetrain loss there is without assuming.
whp is a better metric
Tyler Barnes
>no real idea how much drivetrain loss there is You can measure that with most dynos.
t. Engineer
Juan Bennett
Yeah, but then meme machine owners have to admit to barely having 170whp
Mason Flores
no that's a stepdad lol you got memed on for real
Gavin Ramirez
Kids these days don't know what sex is.
Owen Evans
You can only assume how much actual loss there is unless you have the engine actually hooked up by itself the way manufacturers do it to get their figures.
Loss on rwd can be anywhere from 12 to 20% depending on a lot of shit, including mechanical wear and tear from age
Ryder Lee
there's good reasons for using bhp otherwise it wouldn't be industry standard seeing as you're too dumb to know them already it's probably a waste of time explaining
Chase Gomez
>good reason Because it makes sense to use a higher number for marketing. How are you people this retarded?
Leo Long
keep guessing lil fella, you might get the right answer eventually
Brody Watson
Im literally an electrical engineer for GM. Keep believing community college taught you everything about the real world.
Wyatt Collins
That would be advertising genius if it weren't for shreiking bitches complaining to broadcasters.
Juan Wilson
downhill mountain pass racing legend
Wyatt Miller
>I change light bulbs in some mexican factory Fascinating stuff user, and I'm sure you get to decide decades old industry wide protocols in that role.
Brody King
Even if I did do shit work, I would still make more than you do, and would still have more knowledge about the auto industry. Keep deflecting with weak insults though, it's almost entertaining.
Mason Roberts
Jesus christ OP
Camden Carter
>You can only assume how much actual loss there I said you can measure it. I know it's possible because I've done it often enough.
Bhp is used because manufacturers rate engines, not cars. Engine dynos make a lot more sense in development and application. It'd be silly to make several dyno runs for every model with the same engine.
t. actual automotive engineer
Tyler Moore
>I said you can measure it. I know it's possible because I've done it often enough . Except you can't, you dumb shit
Carter Cooper
you really can though you obtuse simpleton
Austin Ward
The manufacturer is stupid because they rate it the same way as everyone else.
I know because I read what you posted on the Veeky Forums. Ur relly smrt
Lucas Davis
Asise the stuff like the micra and the mirage almost every modern car is very safe and I would not be suprised if even a fiat 500 get five star ratings in a few categories.
Leo Scott
Engine test Vs Wheel test
Marketing and simplicity reasons. Now stfu and help this man get a car that his wife will allow him to drive her son in. Disregard the fact that op is a cuck.
Also. We don't want checks driving a rwd car.
Op, buy a civic.
Nicholas Collins
Any Japan BRZ/FRS downhill vids to share?
Jack Reyes
>drive rolls of dyno with transmission in gear >measure expended power to know losses of powertrain >do the same in neutral to know the losses of the transmission and diff It's really not rocket science.
Landon Davis
Are those scenes with the wife real or acted?
Mason James
>my wife's son
Luke Campbell
>It's always the same car with the same plate >is it real user please
Tyler Powell
Just get a WRX STI, your dumb bitch of a wife won't be able to say it's not safe since it looks far more subdued. Then when your cucked kid is with you, you can blow the doors off of cars and rip hektik skids
Julian Morris
Didn't catch the "her son" part. Well done.
Robert Ross
>my wife's son top cuck m8
Eli Green
I forgot that for it to be a cuck it has to be an unwitting parental figure for another mans son
Either way OP shouldnt exhume cuckoldry around his son
Henry Robinson
obvious bait and still 60 replies. gotta love Veeky Forums
Tyler Gomez
>My wife's son
Brody Stewart
I guess gear ratios and rolling resistance don't exist any more on a dyno
Jonathan Hernandez
These threads are on every fucking board and everyone of them gets replies.
Brandon Stewart
You obviously don't know what you're talking about.
Parker Allen
Stock block can handle up to 300WHP with reliability. Anything more than that and you're just asking for problems.
David Wood
Haha my wife's son you're a comedy genius good one keep it up :)
Gabriel Phillips
Cuckmobile3 received an IIHS top safety pick so it is great for your wife's son OP!
