Nope, 64 is actually godlike. There's a ton of hitstun, everyone has cool as shit stuff they can do, rolls suck and there's no air dodging.

It's not inherently bad. It makes going into the air much less safe, encouraging people to have a plan to get back to the ground. It makes being off the stage ludicrously dangerous. Since Z-canceling is so good jump approaches are high risk high reward. Plus air dodges like the ones in Smash 4 are annoying as shit.

Don't get me wrong, I like air dodge approaches (such as Mewtwo's or Jigglypuff's,) but 9 times out of 10 it just adds an extra layer of bullshit to the already annoying process of edgeguarding in Smash 4. Getting back to the ledge is already so free with everybody having amazing nigh-ungimpable recoveries, ledge trumping, etc. The fact that going off stage for an attack also requires an air dodge read (and a correctly timed punish, which is not easy since many vulnerability windows between air dodges are quite short) is just... ugh. You're better off just getting somebody to a percent where you'll kill them off the side or top than bothering with edgeguarding. Especially in netplay.
