V12 fap thread

What makes a V12 sound the way the does and so fucking good? Why is the V12 such a special engine?
Anyway, V12 fap thread, all V12 engines welcome, including aviation ones.

I really want to own one someday, but I hope I can at least experience one before I die.

...

And how could I forget the La Ferrari

youtu.be/C_E3bSFi8lI

Is Veeky Forums slow tonight or is my thread shit.

My dream car is a V12 bmw 8-series. Oh boy now that is a car.

Very nice.
Speaking of BMW V12 engines, can't believe I forgot to add the McLaren F1.

It just has this baritone bark to it, if I'm even using that word correctly.
Here is Mr. Bean himself driving.

youtu.be/Eci0bMFpG6I

Guess it is his car but not him driving, I read the description wrong.

>Why is the V12 such a special engine?

Because it's perfectly balanced like a straight six and there's twice as many cylinders firing per rotation of the crank which means very smooth power delivery.

It's weird, it sounds like a strait six but different. But that difference is what makes it sound glorious. Do two pairs of cylinders fire together maybe? No idea, but curious what the science is behind it all.

youtube.com/watch?v=R-C49A-iTdM

Fuck them for cutting up this video so badly. But my word, this is pure sex.

No one cylinder from each bank fires at a time.

Dat gearbox whine
> I'll never drive, let alone own an F1
Why live?

Ok. But in the time it takes all six cylinders to fire on the inline all twelve have fired, right?
I honestly feel like a retard right now.

yes

Thanks m8

Found this explaining music/sound of engines

Pure sex

V12 almost sounds like V8
youtube.com/watch?v=lNlv7UTq3MI

this is the lowest quality garbage video ever

It sounds like it has cancer.

>Muh 1080p
Fuck off cunt it's an 8yr old video and I don't see anyone else with a HD version of the same thing

I don't think user is referring to the res but the horrible sound.

i want a zonda

youtube.com/watch?v=i6NIsizLGlQ

Zondas are based

as much as i love how excessive v12 engines are my fucking god they are stupid

look at all those fucking pipes and wires

it looks like an electrical room crammed into an engine bay

it looks like the engineers kept going: its nice but can we add more?

aaand filtered

>I love V12s
>but not really because I'm an idiot

I had a friend who picked up an old 750il for 800 bucks. we cut off the exhaust and put two glass packs on it with out a crossover. holy shit did that thing make a wonderful sound. Does good burnouts too lol. Ever see a full size luxobarge go sideways down a back alley?

youtube.com/watch?v=aOZnUHC8w2s

I still miss the last v-12 from Ferrari. Even during televised races You could hear it pierce over the V-10's/

there's an older video on youtube that's like 5 minutes of v12 f1 cars during qualifying, just audio no video. it's tight as hell.

> slower than a 8 cylinder lexus

Into the trash it goes. 25 hp per cylinder lol

>Into the trash it goes. 25 hp per cylinder lol

cosign, fuck that shit.

wtf are you talking about.

it makes more hp than an LS and a UZ.

and more hp per liter.

especially the CSi. Makes significantly more hp than either.

Make you feel better?

Lincoln Zeyphr

No but I want to. For the price you paid I'm surprised it ran.
> wish I had money to blow on shenanigans

Flat head? That's cool as shit.

Yes. I believe Cadillac had OHV V12's and a V16

> there will never be a new v16 car again
Although the W is cool in its own right there is something about a v16 format

As modern as it gets.

V12 is for boys.
F12 is for men.
youtube.com/watch?v=FkP5Svl16Qg

well, we fixed it a little, some of the wiring was janky. He sold it for like 3k after.

V12 MASTER RACE

yeah because men want to melt their superiorly useful hands trying to get off an oil filter

nah jk

>yeah because men want to melt their superiorly useful hands trying to get off an oil filter
>nah jk
Men don't, but real men do. :P

Isn't that engine just two v8's stuck to each other and not one motor?

v12 is definitely best v

Thought that was the batmobile in the thumbnail at first glance

Glorious. And that sound on decel is beautiful.

Good deal, hoon something then sell it for a profit.

It's two Urraco V8's put together, however it was cast as one block. So I guess no?

I was thinking of another car possibly.

Looked it up and it was the car I was thinking of.

>the engine was not a true V16. Rather, it was engineered from the ground up as two flat plane V8s sharing a single block, mounted transversely, with gearing between the two providing a single output from the center of the engine assembly to the longitudinal transmission.

en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cizeta-Moroder_V16T

...

It's a wild engine.

Didn't know the engine was mounted transversely like that. I guess then the more modern V16 would be the Cadillac Sixteen. Though it isn't production, the motor seems to be a true V16.

>more power
>more specific output
>HURR DURR HP PER CYLINDER
Fuck off, lexustard.

What are the top pipes for? I never knew.

Overhauling one of those must cost a fortune.

Well, so does the car. So the people who own one won't have much of a problem with cost.

I didn't think of that. Good point.

Air intake trumpets that feed air into the carb which then meters fuel into the engine.

it's 2 straight sixes bolted together, how could it NOT sound sexy

>300 hp
Vs.
> 300 hp

You're wrong the 8 series was shit. A lexus sedan is better

>implying 300hp
>comparing a lexus sedan to a completely different type of vehicle
You are a fucking retard, you know that? 5 years ago there were no lexustards on this board, but now that fantrash-tier people like you have figured out you can afford them, you dickride them worse than VW children and Honda faggots. Not even the faggotiest hondafaggot would attempt to compare his accord to a V12 powered RWD coupe.

youtube.com/watch?v=oN8pHJ3sQ0Q

> slower 0 60 than a sc400
The sc400 is its competition. It's worse in more ways than a sc than its better. Don't get all upset bro.

Guess you're right. The Lexus is completely different - it's cheaper, more reliable, faster, and better on the fuel.

Motor trend or someone compared the two. You are the one dick riding you ignorant dweeb

>lexustards going full sperg-out damage control because they know they've been had
I'd take a V12 powered Yugo over your grandma-barge, lexustards.

>V12 powered Yugo

Who wouldn't?

Ah, thank you very much. I had a feeling it's air intake but seemed strange that they are straight upwards.

They sound phenomenal

Nice damage control. Doesn't change the fact the Lexus was better in almost every way. You say I'm doing exactly what you are doing. You're funny.

...

>caddies are no longer the standard of the world
>they will never have the balls to put in a motor with more than 8 cylinders
What the fug happened? They became a joke. At least now they're making good cars again. But nowhere near what they were in the beginning of the company.
