Quetzal is shit compared to based Ramuh.
While VIII's Shiva artwork is very nice, I don't like her in-game model that much for some reason (and I prefer XIV's Shiva).
BE may be shit but it have the best Siren.
XI/XIV's Carbuncle is cuter.
VIII have my favorite Ifrit, though. Doom Train, Cactuar and Tonberry as summons are also really neat.

Absolutely correct. FFXV might trump it, but VIII has had the most aesthetic and artistically consistent summons to date. XII is also up there, but the Ivalice summons aren't as iconic.

The XIII story didn't exist when XII came out. How on earth is the Zodiark - Orphan connection supposed to make sense?

7's basic design was good, but neo, zero, and X's Bahamut designs permanently ruined all later designs. Even World of FF's Bahamut looks tainted by the X/crisis core designs.

They definitely had an idea of what they wanted to put in XIII during the time XII was in development. It's probable that they designed Orphan to fit Zodiark, not the other way around.

I truly don't understand the hate over the X design. It's kinda cool. Not my favorite summon but definitely a good king of dragons.
