Far as I can tell, it's a problem of inaccurate slowdown and some bugs that never bothered getting fixed. For example, I think I heard that the ports crash if you have more than 100 friends on your Steam friends list.

Not too well. I've been trying to practice DSMBL 999 but I'm not doing so good. Casper's been taking a vicious pounding here.

not very well. i can't find the motivation to do it the past week after i had a fantastic run ruined by interruption. i try but get angry after a couple runs and give up. i need a couple days off work to get my head back in the game.

Not good. Haven't played in a week.

Maybe a couple hundred more hours of practice and I can start runs that can actually get something "decent".

anyone having problems with overconfidence? I keep seeing and casually aiming for gaps that, while legitimate, are actually stupidly difficult to pass through. this shit has been killing my consistency ever since it started, and all i keep thinking about is "it's gonna look good on the replay"

Doesn't make sense for a shmup since I think I have one friend on my friends list who plays them but that's a funny bug

I often make uneducated guesses, and my uneducated guess on this matter is that the Xbox 360 ports were never programmed to show leaderboards with 100+ friends on it (because Xbox Live doesn't let you have that many friends) and when the game was ported over, they just left it like that, so when you try to view the leaderboard with 100+ friends it just trainwrecks.

Personally I'm more miffed about how, just after the announcement of the Deathsmiles Steam port, they were considering ways to make the Steam version a better value since so many people already owned it on 360 worldwide. Miffed because they wound up not doing jack shit with that idea and just wound up with a plain port of the 360 port.

That's a shame, but it's understandable since a lot of Japanese developers just don't work with PC games and ports. Look at the first Dark Souls when that released, with its 1024*600 resolution and forced 30fps.

Maybe it's just porting.

Yup i played it alot, it and 3 are seriously underated imo. 3 has some great interesting suicide strats aswell.

Pretty good desu after months of trying to get 50+ mill in guwange blue i got 2 runs with different characters, now the room for error is tighter.

It's more a sign of the times than any kind of message about the genre, western culture breeds laziness, aversion to dedication, absence of desire/understanding for long term achievement and seeks to alienate those who do have long term focus for a single activity. In the 90s everyone who tried hard or did anything was called "nerd" as a derogative and now the new word is "autist/autism" which is almost always used in a passive aggressive sense to validate the person using it and an insults laziness and failure to achieve anything and alienate those whom do to make himself feel better. Once upon a time we celebrated the strong and gifted now we demonize them give medals to everybody and celebrate the weak/self proclaimed victims thus why the west is in its infancy of demise.

Type I, because it looks the best, is not too fast, and has these cool Ikaruga/Rayforce type homing lasers.

Arcade Original isn't even that bullet hellish, compared to other games. You also got a lot of fire power yourself.

Oh, and I like it because it controls just right, compared to other ships.

I think you unlock it after getting a certain number of stars cumulatively. It's the strongest ship.

Is there any shmup which plays similar to CCWI when playing for score? I can't remember any shmup which uses this kind of time-kill multiplier.

Well, ok, except Rayforce maybe, but that doesn't really require you to time-kill enemies, afaik.
