Freelance was the easiest way to get through your first few levels as all the admin was someone else's problem. Especially as the world is huge and there is so much waiting to fuck you up.

It's upped the challenge no doubt which isn't bad on the whole but it was nice to have that fall back to quickly get past the littlest fish stateside you can get to SMASHIN

Freelancing is great because you end up with medium-late game weapons and armor for very little effort.
Only downside is that you won't have a lot of money, but that hardly matters once you're fully decked out.

Guys, what's better for beginners? One handed or two handed weapons?
I think greatswords are the epitomy of swag, but I don't know if I got the skill to not get owned without a shield on my first playthrough.

Microsoft Security Essentials fucked with the crack. Turned it off and now it works.

Learn how to play with a shield.
Once you fell confident enough you can learn how to parry with a 2handed sword, the fastest one you can find preferably.
Once thats done you can go full greatsword.

Two-handed is good in a way because it forces you to practise proper parrying
Shield is easier though and makes it easier to deal with projectiles.
