I just said his arguments were retarded.
I also think that you should either deal with the risks of open cockpit, or close it up properly, not some half assed compromise

Any kind of flying rubble small enough (of which there are many inside an F1 car) can go through it, or just something pointy enough, like an open barrier pole can poke through it no problem.
But you're right though, it's better than nothing, especially taking into account that one accident in... GP3? with the flying wheel.

If you want to race a closed cockpit go to LMP1

>Implying Small to Medium objects won't kill people

desu it's fine as it is none of this shit would have saved Bianchi anyway.

>B B But Justin Wilson
Was sad but at the end of the day thats motorsport, there will always be a risk.

I pray to god these faggots never come for the TT.

What can be done to make TT safe besides outright cancelling it?
I doubt something will happen, does the FIA even have anything to do with it?

I don't give a shit either way about it but to suggest the halo hasn't been logically engineered to make the most difference in the most important situations is bullshit. The whole purpose of the thing is to have the strength to actually deflect the most dangerous objects which a conventional windscreen couldn't.

>The whole purpose of the thing
is to please the FIA about public perception of safety in motorsports
Otherwise we wouldn't be racing with that shit, we would already be at closed cockpit or outright RC cars instead.
The reason it's a halo is because 2017 cars were already on it's way in the design floor and going full on closed cockpits would be fuck up the design flow towards 2017.

>that thong can protect you from something a fully enclosed cockpit or the aeroscreen® can't
Kay bb

They should just use the halo shit with CrimSafe™ flyscreen mesh filling the gaps

Because if it's not CrimSafe™, it's not crim safe.

>we would already be at closed cockpit
There is no practical closed design for an F1 size cockpit and full size RC racing isn't even viable with current technology.

>a thing that actually exists can protect you from things that unfinished concepts can't
WOW

They want a full screen but it's not actually a thing yet aside from mockups.
