You can still fuck up pretty bad driving an auto. Shift into drive at high rpm, or into reverse at high speed, and you can be a retard just like OP.

You'd have to be braindead to shift into drive at high RPM.
Also, you cannot get into reverse at high speed on any modern auto trans post 1980s

My point is, fucking up with a manual is easier than with an auto

i did it in my moms 3rd gen Prelude years ago, poor fucking thing had like 600,000km on it and i dont know how but i accidentally ripped 3rd to 2nd instead of 4th

just learn in a parking lot at night, i got thrown into the lions pit years ago and learned in rush hour traffic but i taught my girlfriend how to drive manual in under a week. we just went into Costco's parking lot at night when it was empty and went nuts

I switched from 5th to 1st (instead of 3rd) while I didn't even have a license and was learning how to drive. Nothing happened because as soon as you let up the clutch even a millimeter you get massive engine braking and realize it's the wrong gear.
I don't know how retarded you have to be to accidentally rev your engine to 10k.

yeah we had a guy in a Audi go 3rd to 2nd when he was flooring it and he dickered the engine, blew a hole in the piston from hitting probably 9k RPM lol

another guy in a Ford Probe did the same thing but the engine was fine after, he was still paranoid he damaged something after a compression/oil pressure test passed

Some kids do it, ie neutral bombing. They think it makes their launch faster without realizing the damage being done to the transmission.

Had a guy in a tc do this most of the can followers fell off and dropped like 6 or 7 valves. Freeze Frame data said the max rpm was 11999rpm

It happens with short shifters, 3rd to 2nd? you're an idiot. But 4th to 3rd is an occasional thing. Doesn't hurt anything if you arent boyracing around high revving.

Only once but I wasn't being a fuccboi so it was at low RPM. You can feel something's off in the clutch before it's even 10% out, he should have caught that before he let the clutch all the way out and fucked up his engine.

It will lock up the drive wheels as if you just threw on the brakes. It can cause a spin if it's a rwd configuration.

Just don't shift at redline and you'll be fine.

Worst I've ever done is misshift 3-2. Ended up about 5 mph away from over redline in 2nd

I don't even know how people do this... my car won't engage a lower gear unless you really force it hard (like trying to destroy the transmission intentionally) or wait a couple seconds for the synchros to spin the input shaft at like 14k RPMs.

The only shift I miss upshfiting is fifth. I hit third instead, because fifth is fucky. You have to go up, then right a little, then diagonal, or it makes a horrible noise. No right then up, no diagonal, up, right, diagonal.

Never did it that bad but I went back to third when I meant to shift to fifth on the interstate. I think my RPM jumped to around 8k so not that bad really. I was really quick on the clutch to stop it from going further.

I'm not sure how that guy managed to go from third to second. Doesn't make much sense and I've only driven manual for a year.

I went first to fourth out of the gate at a rallycross.
