Light is also in the bottom half of the elements in terms of strength.

Fire is shit at the endgame, but by that point you'll have pools in other elements if you want to be esports.

It's harder because you'll be getting weapons 3 times slower than the main elements but it's worth having not be weak to any element. You're guaranteed to get two weapons every month if you max out renown anyways.
