There have been so many scandals lately, on top of cheating/hacks being used by 'pros' but are still defended and supported by Blizzard, I just don't trust esports at this point.

When 'esports' first came out, I was all hyped because even normies and the legit sports communities were finally starting to acknowledge that professional gaming has a space alongside leagues like the NFL or NBA. But then slowly but surely, unchecked greed reared its ugly head and you got all these crooks exploiting their players or the players themselves exploiting their fanbases. It's a basically wild west system that doesn't have any kind of backing, just who can make the most money while getting away with shit.

Until we get massive changes in and enforcement, it's just hard to take esports seriously.

If both the agencies nor the professional players even respect themselves and their own industry, how do you expect me to respect you? You guys don't even attempt to act like athletes or professional leagues. You got all these eyes on you, especially kids or even adults that look up to you, and you just act crass, talk shit, cheat, lie, steal, match fix, etc., they don't even care. It's a shit-show that needs more regulation.

You want to stand next to 'real' sports and be respected? You don't magically get respect. You have to earn it first.

I spend most of my time looking at kill feed and ultimate charges if I want to keep track of what's actually happening.
