This triggers me. Either make it /scg&edg/ or call it Elite Dangerous & Star Citizen
Benjamin Martin
All in favour of calling it /scedg/?
Blake Morris
ELITE CITIZEN STAR DANGEROUS
Brayden Rodriguez
Do either of these games plan to let you orbit around a planet or have planets orbit around the sun?
What about moving inside your ship in zero g?
I'm genuinely curious. By the way, if your game doesn't at least have these there's no point in arguing realism.
Julian Mitchell
/ecsdg/ when
Elite has orbiting planets/moons though n ogravity wells for yourself to orbit in. Star Citizen should have 0g moving around ships however the ability to turn off the gravity in your ship is not yet implemented but planned.
Aaron Lewis
Star Elite: Dangerous Citizen
Jaxson James
CR mentioned orbits which surprised the hell out of me as I and most people assumed shit would be static. You can 0g in ships right now but there's no button to turn gravity on or off yet so it's difficult to make happen

Uninspired and repetitive as games nowadays are, many a disillusioned fan don’t hesitate to call out the medium as fallen. Along comes Elite Dangerous, the latest entry to gaming self-critique and introspection.
On the surface Elite Dangerous seems like your ordinary game which is seemingly unremarkable but whose charm is so irresistible yet so subtle, that the people who've played it cannot but fall for it, much to the frustration of some self proclaimed "fathers of vision" who cannot see any logic to these affections. Os et labra tibi lingit, Manneia, catellus: non miror, merdas si libet esse cani.
Unlike our hack-ridden gaming industry, Elite Dangerous uses metaphors in an excruciatingly subtle way. Sharp-eyed spectators should be able to spot the humanistic properties Elite Dangerous displays. Elite Dangerous is a self-aware and self-referencing work. It points out the flaws and implausibilities which often plague its genre, yet offers no alternative. Though criticized for conforming to its genre without innovation, composing the rest of the game with uninspiring features essential in achieving what Elite Dangerous wishes to do. While it does highlight the unrealism which plagues the gaming community, it also serves to illustrate the irrationality of passion and infatuation, which which is shown by the hatred often spewed at this masterpiece. Poor Elite is left with naught, but to hunger evermore.
The team is aware of the flaws and tropes in their work, but artistic integrity has to be weighed against the harsh market. Even so, no artist wishes to make hollow trash as much as “fathers of vision” so often may think. Behind these stories are genuine emotions, far more so than half-assed criticisms by blind followers of objectivism.

How the fuck do you make money in elite now? I just went to sothis and they shut it the fuck down with """"plot""""
The gamescom presentation looked cool but the missions are still the "go to point A, download thing, shoot pirates on point B" type. I'm really hoping that'll see some of the rescue/salvage/mining/escort/cargo/hunting missions. I can understand that they want some depth in the combat aspect but some slight diversity would be cool and starting to showcase it would be great.
Dylan Rivera
I just did a protect a security station, so there's FPS missions if you're interested now.
Jackson Ramirez
There needs to be walking around in stations.
Chase Russell
Got some fat cash in my wallet but not that much fat cash
should I upgrade my Aurora to a 300i or an Avenger Titan?
>dads in the gulag arguing ED is more of a sim than a game
Jordan Stewart
What's a turret farm? I haven't touched this game in ages.
Nathan Brooks
There are gravity wells with planets you can land on from what I can tell. Once you get close enough the planet will start pulling you towards it. The only reason you can't orbit a planet is that there is a limit to how fast your ship can go. You'd need to be going at sufficient speed to counteract gravity and go around the planet.
Caleb Murphy
At the end of the day all that is still 'get thing take to place, shoot mans' etc. With different dressing salving and mining dont really need job ordets aka quests associated to make them happen
Leo Thomas
I thought the economic goal was to have players give others quests?
Like the ceo of a guild would ask mercenaries to protect his cargo container so he can sell weapons in another system or something.
Christopher Perry
Yeah but the fetch quests are truly simplistic right now by being just "download or press this button", same for the combat quests, you could have some interesting missions where you have to track the guy by analysing his EM or QD signature remnants.
Haven't checked the FPS content that much, I hope there will be some interesting choices to make like battle rifles against assault rifles, etc.
Matthew Powell
Are any cheap ships that I can actually fit a mate in?
I know the Aurora has a bed in the back but theres not really an actual place for him to sit and see whats going on
Joshua Powell
Yeah but the majority will still be npc
Bentley Cooper
there was a crate with a shotgun, a sniper and a ballistic rifle and you have a few minutes to set up defences
Cooper Ward
Does anyone have that pic that shows all of the wasted money and effort on Star Citizen?
I saw it mentioned in the previous thread and now i'm curious.
Adrian Murphy
alight with combat focused power get turrets go to crime sweep and afk farm it ai there is so dumb that it will never touch you trade in merits and collect your weekly salary
Jaxon Jackson
In the aurora, mustang or avenger he can just stand behind you and see the action with no trouble
Oliver Morris
Does the game not freak out when you start doing spins and going fast without actually being cemented to a seat?
Benjamin Diaz
Nah you can even walk around during maneuvers just fine. It can be disorienting for the player but there's no sliding around or anything like you might expect.
Joseph Harris
Will that work in an asp explorer? Or should I get something more combat oriented?
Ayden Harris
sweet
Colton Bennett
Now they just need to remove the thumbhole stocks and make the rifles a little bit less bulky, something like the MSBS would be great.
Joshua Diaz
they fixed it last patch AFAIK
Austin Clark
oh, ok i haven't logged in in about a month
Jordan Rodriguez
Yes, ever since 2.0
Ryder Cox
Someone just dropped UAs at Ceos, got like five news updates already. Can anybody drop some meta-alloys here?
Adrian Perez
Doctor Smart?
Joseph Taylor
>be lefty >try bullpup for the first time >experience new kinds of pain as the bolt grabs my goddamn ear through the ejection port and attempts to chamber it
Bentley Wright
>I'm CIG
Caleb Barnes
>You aren't allowed to bring goons
Kayden Campbell
Does anyone have the picture that shows the time, money and effort wasted on Star Citizen?
Someone mentioned it in a previous thread and it made me curious.
I'm looking forward to the game but it's been nagging me how many times ships have been redesigned and all the stuff that's be done and redone so many times.
Austin Rivera
I bet you wanted to give the designer a real earful
Lincoln Turner
>not using a bullpup with interchangeable ejection port when lefty Even the FAMAS does that, why would you be retarded?
Tyler Adams
those are some perfect tits
Elijah White
Oh you.
Never tried one before and it was handed to me at a range.
Daniel Ross
When can I play the gamescom build? I think its 3.0?
Ethan Barnes
End of the year if they are on time.
Henry Hall
2017
Owen King
are they usually on time with the updates?
Asher Myers
how does dlc system work in elite dangerous? On steam there's basic game and horizons season pass, so I guess there's no "regular" season pass which grants you access to all future dlcs So if I for example buy this deluxe commander or whatever it's called edition I get basic game and horizons dlc but I will have to buy separately any future dlc?
Elijah Hernandez
Really no way of telling.
They've delayed shit a lot and also been ahead of schedule.
Is there a way to play it after the servers shut down? Have the core files leaked to create maybe a private server or some shit? I really liked it ;_;
Adam Reyes
Most likely. I don't think they'll ever release a complete season pass with all future DLC since they're taking "Season" in the most literal sense possible. Maybe if they release a super founders edition for $200 packaged with an Ocellus Startport buttplug for extra gaming immersion.
Sebastian Robinson
>tfw black prophecy didnt live long enough for #blackpropheciesmatter to be a thing
Elijah Green
I feel like it might end like payday 2 with all these dlcs Guess I'm gonna wait for next season to come out and buy it all on Christmas steam sale or on the next one if it won't be out by December
Eli Rogers
is there anything to fucking do in elite yet
I bought it the week it came out, flew around with some buds, did some bounty hunting, then we all got bored and went back to other shit
also is the emissions system actually a thing now? That always pissed me off, how there's explicitly a display in your cockpit showing how easy you are to detect and you can do things to minimize it but ultimately you can't do neat stealth shit or anything
Christian Perez
>People bombed Ceos with UAs because they think they think they know better about how people should play the game.
Forumdads, ladies and gentlemen. The one and only species of trash I wouldn't mind gunning down.
Brandon Roberts
What is this?
Ayden Taylor
When's today's ED stream? The convention's not over, is it?
What's this UA stuff? I just started doing long hauls from sothis
Thomas Stewart
Holy shit I forgot about Black Prophecy. Why did it end up failing? I was excited for it since you'd be piloting it from the cockpit and it was an mmo.
Nathan Martinez
Unknown Artifacts.
Part of the mystery of the soon incoming Thargoid invasion.
They are corrosive and will damage modules while in your cargo bay.
Selling them in quantity to stations will damage the station and take services offline until you bring meta alloys to it to repair them.
Michael Hughes
thank
The Thargoid reveal is today, right?
Joseph Roberts
What a bunch of faggota
Levi Jackson
Fuck off dads. This is literally the only way players have had any impact on the universe.
I'm sorry your grind is interrupted, how about dealing with it and finding something else to do.
Asher Martinez
Heat always worked. If you're in a dark spot, turn off all your shit and you'll be practically invisible even to sensors. I got ambushed a couple times like that.
Hunter King
It may not work so good as AI though.
Levi Ward
In E:D the planets orbit and so do stars and other stellar objects.
I guess you could say you technically also orbit when you're in an instance that's orbiting around something but you can't make freeform orbits kerbal style.
Sebastian Phillips
I hope that ship transfer stuff doesn't get fucked up, is it for base too or just horizons?
>dads are against grinding >dads are grinding What is it now?
Brody Campbell
How about you?
Player agency is only a good mechanic if it can lead to fun outcomes. All this does is shit things up for every party involved.
Carter Miller
The quality of life improvements are for everyone.
Josiah Gonzalez
I mean, I get wanting to start out with your dream ship. But why buy 20 of the same ship? Why not just buy one of the bigger ships just once?
Sebastian Watson
>let's make the most reliable way of grinding useless to everybody >you can't play how you want! >stop trying to have fun! Faggots
Justin Collins
I've literally never been able to pull stealth shit off
and then there aren't any ships built to capitalize on that, or ships designed to counter those ships. ED could have it's own EWAR system based around thermal emissions and shit but instead you get this system that feels mostly tacked on.
Xavier Lewis
Dads are the ones complaining about UA bombing. Calling 'griefing' and shit
Landon Ramirez
Can someone who plays Star Citizen tell me if my friend is bullshitting me about there being some sort of grind system in the game where every ship is grindable with game credits? I had the impression you just throw them $50-400 to get a ship and that's your ship until you throw them more $.
Brayden Brooks
Me? A dad? Because I don't enjoy the fucking mindless grind? Go fuck yourself.
I can't stand around and play the game all day like the UA NEETs can. You fucks all do nothing to improve the game and sit here on your asses pointing fingers and laughing like the dumb shits you are. This community is as toxic as the sludge that you get in military camp.
Some of you guys are alright, don't dock in Lave tomorrow.
Connor Sanchez
All of the ships can be bought with ingame currency. The ones you bought with real cash will have lifetime insurance, though.
Alexander Mitchell
SPOOKY BRABEN
Brayden Moore
AYY LMAO
David Roberts
Okay, sounds much more reasonable then.
James Long
>Ceos Who even cares about Ceos though? I got enough missions on Sothis to fill 400t of stuff and get 50mill per haul.
