time attack a best

Endurance, where reliability and balance are above anything else

I prefer cars but MotoGP is GOAT motorsport.

Having participated in all but F1, here are my thoughts

F1: Kind of like the NBA of racing, mostly branding, signature attitudes, and lots of noise. But goddamn are those vehicles beautiful.

NASCAR: Exhilarating, but doesnt seem very skill based, and lasts way too long. (went on a ride along in South Carolina)

Rally: holyfuckingshitimgonnadie kind of awesome, but between the filth and uneven terrain, going in a rally car again would cause my heart and lungs to explode. Fun to watch though.

Drifitng: Flashy, fun, best around mountains and tracks, not a fan of street drifters.

Drag: Ten seconds of WOOOOOOOO-oh its over. And it's where the cars do all the talking, not the drivers. For the price, I'd rather go to Six Flags.

Go-Karts: Yes it counts, fun with family and friends, builds great foundations. Best when outside.

Track: My favorite, balance of spatial awareness, car/driver working as one, not as long as endurance, pit stops involve strategy, hugeeeeee variety of track types. At least here on the West Coast.

this person has played too much video games

adding Street Racing, I acknowledge it exists, but I don't give a fuck about the people who do it. It's unsafe, dangerous to the puplic, and illegal, and costs a hefty fine when caught.

not a big fan of racing video games actually. The only speed related game I liked was Sonic Riders, but that was mostly for the music, haha.

drifting

How to Make a Car Look Like Shit:

Drag racing

>driving in a straight line
>exciting
Your amerifat is showing

drift cars are the best looking cars

just look at this shit trying to pretend to be a spacecraft

>sport

remembe not to reply to the stancecuck

more of a sport than drag racing

thats for sure

>tfw using FF in your local drift competition

both are like the special olympics, just for retards

drift is still worse, mainly because of the stancecucks

Things that are awesome about drag:
>Loud
>Stupid fast
>Extensive out access
>Get to hang out like 15 feet from the track
>Over 200 races a day (not like one or two)
>Great grudge matches.
>Delicious cheese steaks in the food area (British grand Prix has shit food)
>Cheap to watch
>Cheap to partake in
>Run what ya brung
>Rail cars.
>Jet cars
>Hot rods
>Gassers
>Muscle cars
>8 Second civics
Shits cash

What's bad
>Hearing damage

it's super boring
if it serves a function then its not exactly a stancecuck is it

>Out access
Pit access

your cuck porn also serves a function, it doesnt mean it isn't trash, stancecuck

i dont even stance

So is flying ur mum, hasn't stopped me before bb ;)

oh well

you are still a fag tho

you're allowed to like it i just think its boring

>Drift, rally, anything stage and time based

>Racing

I like any race series with actual contact competition like BTCC and other forms of tin-top racing.

None of that weak tube-frame based or prototype BS.

ACTUAL, FULL CONTACT COMPETETION IS THE ONLY TRUE FORM OF RACING.

Literally half of motorised competetion...
I would not even consider racing. Drag is not racing, Endurance is only sometimes racing, F1 is not racing, Motorbikes are not resistant enough to contact for actual racing.

All these sports are about fast times whilst driving around the opposition.

In true racing advantages can be gained through actual tussles with the opponent!!!

To watch on TV/internet:
Endurance racing, when there's a close race the pressure/storylines that unfold can be some of the best, and it's one of the few race series where they actually show/talk about the wrenching on the cars

To watch in person:
NASCAR is awesome because the size of the spectacle, and the cars are so rowdy, I've only seen it on a road course (Sonoma) but I think a big oval would be even more enjoyable.

To wrench on:
I like vintage, not too competitive, strict ruleset and primitive cars so you have to be creative/on your toes, and just overall a fun time. I also like any series with a strict ruleset that leaves only a few variables open (pretty much any spec series, Miata, Ferrari Challenge, etc.), the fewer the variables the more pressure it is on the pit to dial in the damping perfectly, come up with a strategy to fit the car to the track in a way others aren't, and make no mistakes.

Anyone who dismisses drag racing clearly has never been to a race or turned a wrench on their own car. Same goes for anyone who thinks autocross sucks.
>you just press the gas pedal for 5 seconds or drive around some cones for 30 seconds then have to sit around doing nothing for 2 hours!

Agreed with you up until drag racing, it's just so dull. It often just feels like who has the more money competition.

I love rally so much, and rally with older cars like Minis and Fulvias just feel even better to me.

Really? Didn't think those were so exclusive, haha.

As I stated, went on a $80 ride-along with the NASCAR event in South Carolina back in 2007. Rally racing is abundant in Kings Bay, GA where I was stationed and a friend of mine built a WRX solely for that. My gangbanger cousin from SoCal has a 240 that he pulls sweet doriftos in. There's drag strips everywhere, I just happened to visit a couple (really fun in Vegas), and made friends. Go-Karts are abundant and I've participated in a lot of tourneys with K1 and MB2 Racing, didnt win any.

And I visit Willow Springs, Buttonwillow and Laguna Seca multiple times a year to take my Miata NC around for fun.

Is it really that out there? Maybe I didn't word it right. I've never done anything F1 related, only watch it on the internet sometimes.

Drifting isn't racing. Motorsport? Yeah,

Racing should always be getting from A to B the fastest or getting there first.

>good looking
>that much negative camber

CHOOSE ONE, RICER

Racing, by definition is "a contest of speed, as in running, riding, driving, or sailing". Rally requires speed. Don't get me wrong, I love all forms of racing (especially rally and road course racing). But something like drift is on par with demo derby. It's not racing, it's motorsport.

Spotted the fag who plays Burnout or Flatout too much

>not true racing

Nice scotsman fallacy, autist. The only one I would agree with you on is drift, but racing is simply a test of speed IN ANY FORMAT.

Drifting is more like figure skatingt or diving or other subjective things. Not to say that is a bad thing, it just is a thing

...

I like racing myself on public roads. The kind where you attack a blind corner and hope nobody is coming the other way.

Rally is god-tier.
It's like f1, but on dirt inna woods.
The rest are boring from a spectators point of view.
Carting seems fun to do.
The isle of man bike race is ultralame and tryhard. Kinda cool to watch, but those dudes are losers.

>Having participated
>NASCAR
Ride alongs don't count.
Actual racing session or GTFO

Bench, nothin quite like it

God tier!
Went to the Susquehannock Trail Performance Rally last weekend and it was fucking awesome. Pic related was my favorite.

>citroen-c4-wrc-2007-02.jpg
>picture of a Xsara WRC

Oh look official rules from the FIA

V8 Supercars back in the day used to be GOAT, but these days it's kinda lackluster, I mean it's still good but I miss the old races

But pretty much I like every motorsport, not gymkhana tho, that can just die somewhere, but apart from that, as long as it's a good competition I'll watch it

no one calls it racing though

you follow someone through a figure 8 or a mini course for style points

I prefer to watch Moto3 over MotoGP.

Rally, Drag Racing, and NASCAR

That's some good shit

>you will never get into rally
>you will always be american stuck in an FF shitbox
>no heroes to look up to
>no manga to obsess over
>nobody cares about rally that isnt group b

Skid Plate Racing
youtu.be/2mk4IWmciuE?t=1m15s
(Race starts at 1:15)

This looks so incredibly fun

I prefer 4 wheels to 2, but these 3 wheelers provide the most insane racing i've seen

(sorry about the music)

Recently went to a rally race in northcentral PA. First time going to one and was such a good time.
