Hearse For Road Trip

Convince me not to.
I want to take it on a road trip across the country.
>Me and my GF
>Take out the stuff in the back
>Sleep in it
>tons of storage space
>It's a fucking hearse

I might try to put some more seats in the rear too. What would be the best way to do that? Should I just go full haggard garage and weld bucket seats to the floor?

have you considered getting a wagon instead?

Those aren't as cool and i think a hearse is longer.
What wagons would recommend that I could get for under 3k?

Old volvo, 90s/00s subaru

Volvo 240 or subaru

Ford focus wagon.
>better mpg
>less edgy
>newer and more reliable
>rear seats fold down so there's plenty of space to sleep

A hearse is just a full sized wagon with spoopy cred, Brah. Take it to /x/ or get a Roadmaster.

Extreme comfort, good reliability, cheap to fix, good towing capabilities, good power, and tons of storage. I'd say go for it.

My first car was a 1994 Caprice Wagon which I owned for about 3 years. Sold it about 8 years ago and have regretted it. They are great cars and there really is not a lot like it any more.

I'm actually going to look at a Buick Roadmaster Wagon this weekend.

subaru forester. It was the car I was close to getting but then I got a hatchback instead. Hatchbacks are probably too small for your purposes though...

Probably not 3K but sexy as fuck

Same car, less dead people smell
>probably

It will be hard to find a better cruiser than the Caprice/Roadmaster for the price. Foresters (or any non-legacy platforms), even the new ones, can't compare for cross country trips.

I mean the edginess is part of the fun, but what do you think of these wagons? I'd like an older, comfy, huge landboat for highway driving.

Damn I hate automatics but these seem so comfy.

That's a damn nice Roadmaster for the money. Can't get one that cheap where I live. I'd seriously consider looking at that.

less than $100 to replace including labor and the car was still derivable when they went out

dont hearses weigh like 6000 pounds and make 10 mpg?

Maybe if they have the casket and rollers in them

Not if you take out all the back part, and I dont think they're that bad.
Now, let's say they get 15mpg
If I want to drive to Quebec, for example, that is about 1500 miles from where I live.
That uses about 100gallons of gas
That's about $250 worth of gas one way.
15mpg is a pretty low estimate, especially since it's mostly highway cruising.
When you think about it that way, it's not that bad.

found the 16 year old

Go to an auction and get a used Ambulance, they go for $500-$1500ish. Try get one with mostly highway miles it might be slightly clapped out but you should be able to squeeze a few more miles of of 'er. Shitty MPG's but they got lots of storage and are wired up with lights and 120v.

>Shitty MPG's
How shitty?
If it's over 15 on the highway that's acceptable

Probably somewhere around that. About the same as a small motorhome, they're built on the same platform.
