Our accounting standards is largely based on international ones and are still changing to suit foreign standards. We have a ton of IFRS-related subjects in our books and even on our board exams. In the end, the biggest difference with our accounting and yours (assuming you're from the US) is the currency, taxation rates and business laws so I do have chances to work abroad. However, I will have to amass years of experience first before I can do that because in here, we can't just fly instantly to work abroad. Usually, it is the company that sends you to abroad after years of quality service (like with our local banks, they send out their most trusted employees). Trusting whatever agencies is suicide so I can only hope and work hard things work out for me.
tl;dr working abroad is plausible, but only after x years. A lot of us are strongly tied to this place which is why you get tons of us (as well as indians) competing when the opportunity arises.
