i get lucky most of the time, i can usually get 2 years out of a 500 dollar shitbox, i get it passed emissions, and get a 2 year sticker for my plate, drive the shit into the ground, and rinse and repeat, keeps me happy,

i dont worry about my car, if someone bumps it or dents it in a parking lot, i dont care if its stolen, hell i dont even care when it shits the bed,

driving this kia now, for a korean shitbox its ok, gets me around, super good on gas, just slow and hates hills, and it feels like the dollarama made it, super cheap inside,

gotta use a few wits, i make mistakes, but i get out of it cheap, a 500 dollar car isnt too much of a financial problem if its a lemon, i go into the country, norfolk, tillsonburg, out in the boonies, and i just drive around and look for rustbuckets, i check them out, offer a few bucks, and work the magic,

like i said, it doesnt always work out, but im never too deep into the hole,

do you register the shit boxes when you buy them? or "float" the title?

yep, transfer them into my name, il wrench on it until its solid, take it in for a safety, take it for the etest, transfer my plates over, and get new stickers,

in the end its way cheaper doing that every 2 years than having a nice $10k and trying to make it last a decade,
