I am new to bikes and still don't understand the petcock. When my bike is parked, should I leave the petcock on "On" "pri" "reserve" ? I get how the petcock works and what each one is for. But when I look up what the bike needs to be on when I am parked, I don't get the answer. Just that on is when it's running, pri is for flow of gas throughout, and reserve gives access to the lower part of tank.

Okay so pretty much leave it on for when it's running and when it's off. Only use res when you're running out of gas, and pri for when it's been parked for weeks and you're trying to start it?

It's fun, gotta get used to revving out for power

pri is really just for if you have drained the carb or taken it off for some reason and need to get fuel moving before you even try to start it.

Arent you doing that wrong? my grandfather told me that you push it until it tenses up then go full force. applying full force at the beginning will mess up the kick starter in the long run.

Mounted my tires myself tonight with the help of a friend. My first time mounting tires that weren't moped/dirtbike tires myself. Just tire spoons, balancing beads, and some dish soap. Was honestly easier than dirtbike tires.

Otherwise got my new brake pads on as well and did a lot of cleaning/scrubbing in/around/behind the swingarm and the spring where it was filthy. Also heavily cleaned the wheels themselves. Hoping I can wrap most everything else up tomorrow. With as hot as it is though I can only stand to actually do much work after 9pm and I usually try to go to bed around 11 since I'm up at 7 every weekday for work.

Can't wait to have the 9r back on the road though.

I need a truck bed tent for my truck, since my bike is not very fun on the highway. Truck bed tent seems the most sturdy for what it is, they're like $100, ever use one?
