Want to buy a 240SX

>want to buy a 240SX
>look on craigslist
>nearly all of them are beaten to shit
>"EASY FIX I JUST DON'T HAVE THE TIME"
>most have horrible mods
>not a single stock car in sight

Where did everything go so wrong?

>I WANT RWD THE INTERNET TOLD ME RWD IS BETTER

Faggy drift culture.

What is wrong with restoring a car? I kind of enjoy taking cars that are rough around the edges and restoring them to their former glory.

Also it might help to embrace the rice and just have fun.

That said if you want to find a 240 that is already daily driveable and stock you're going to have a bad time.

>expecting to find a pristine sports car from the 90's that is cheap enough for a teenager to buy
when did you get so stupid?

Most used cars are like that - been shat all over, what little value left extracted, and you have to roll back everything that's been done and then build on that.

And people mod their cars and think their precious mods they installed half-assedly make the car worth anything at all. Mods don't make the car worth any more than it would be if you kept it stock, and too many mods scream "THIS CAR IS SHIT".

I know stock 240SX's are out there, I've seen a couple on the street and one on Craigslist a while back.

this thread has been made over 100 times now
any retard knows the answer to this
all the beginning drifters go for 240s

Guess it's related, saw a stock untouched S14 the other day. Granted it was a Q's but still.

First they depreciated, then they became affordable. This was the end; poorfags ruin everything. Just look at the WRX, FiST/FoST, and the 86/BRZ.

>drift/sports car/vaper tax is applied
>existing models are riced out and fucked with because aftermarket is plentiful and cheap

>S13 w/ 200,000 miles
>$5,000 I KNOW WHAT I GOT

I know how you feel, trying to find a Toyota Supra from the 80's that is not an automatic is alomost impossible now.

It's going to be the miatas next. In the next 3 years a clean na is going to be as hard to find as an unfucked 240.

If you want a car that was owned by a boring white guy go shop for buicks

>>decent unmolested 240sx
>>$2600
>>auto

Thinking about buying and throwing a 5spd in it.

pittsburgh.craigslist.org/cto/5624873591.html

Do it

>unmolested 240sx
>want to molest it by changing its transmission

if you're going down the road of transmission swaps there's so fucking much you can get that's better than a shit s chassis

>the road
it takes literally 3 hours.

Why would you even bother asking this. If you like 240s and dont know that the majority of them have been scooped up for drifter wannabis than you have been living under a rock.

My uncle had a pristine, all stock 240z.

It was beautiful. He asked me 7 years ago if I wanted it. Same family, aunt asked if I wanted her E36 M3.

I said no to both because I was a huge pc gamer who didn't give a shit about cars.

If I went back in time, I'd kill my former self.

Why dont you just do it now you fucking fool.

kill yourself

What did you expect from a weaboo machine like that.
This. But i restore total shitboxes. Like my em2. Ill fix the sway links eventually.

Kill yourself.

I had a 240sx once. Worthless pile of shit.
Got sick of something breaking every time i drove it.
So i parked it in a field in the middle of nowhere and never looked back.
Worst cars ever built. I mean seriously nissan. What were you thinking?

Consider broadening your horizons.
>RX7s
>Z cars
>Corollas, Celicas, Supras
>Skylines can occasionally be found for cheap'ish
>Miatas
>Datsun 510
>If you like MR, a Toyota MR2 could be in your future
If you ignore the anti-rotary shitters, the RX7 can make a pretty good starting platform. They almost universally come with manual, NA is perfectly reliable for a beginner into rotaries. Build up for a turbo later in life, or save up for a 20b and turbo that. A good 20b engine should run you about 6-8g, and some guys make anywhere from 400 to money horsepower with them. With people getting as high as 700 horsepower, the limit is only how much money you have, and how reliable you want your engine to be.
That said, Mazda's 787b ran the 24 hours of Le Mans, and was allegedly able to run another 24 hours with no fixing required. That's substantial. Most cars that go through Le Mans are nearly dead by the end of it.

But if your heart is set on a Silvia, wait. Or consider buying one of those abused ones. Maybe join with a local community for Silvias, and see who trashed their cars on Kijiji. Get to know the people who drive them, and see if you can get a good one.

UNH

>"I see them on the road from time to time, that must mean they are for sale"
You are a dunce

>those cars
>cheap
>in America
lel no

Plz stop

There were only 50,000 s14s sold in the USA.

I know. I know.

Please. I know.

God I hate myself.

Are you stupid

>Mods don't make the car worth any more than it would be if you kept it stock

Actually it does but only if its real performance to the car.

>>Skylines can occasionally be found for cheap'ish

Yeah, no, people want ridiculous prices for them just because BURR HURR SKYLINE (alot of people dont know skylines had rust issues)

there is a 91 5 speed near me for less than 2 grand, looks very clean and bone stock, but needs a tranny rebuild. seriously considering it.

Love me some clean 240's.

just get an fc3s dork
