You don't have to be a scout to get spotting damage though.
Just get in a fast heavy and rush up into a prime spotting spot.

This. This is reasonable. 2,1k dmg +800 assisted damage in a light tank. Completely fair and manageable. But the 15th light tank mission (4k assisted dmg), now that's not reasonable. That's impossible.
