Im about to head out on my first road trip. Its 4k miles and im taking this baby. Im riding solo and meeting up with a friend for a few days. Has anyone else done a long road trip on a motorcycle? What did you do? How was your experience?
Moto Road trips
Holy shit that's gonna suck.
>4000 miles on a cbr
that sounds fucking awful, bro
Lol you arent the only ones to say so, but its what ive got and it will certainly be an experience. I didnt want to wait a year till i get a 600 series bike
Check out baron von grumble on youtube. He rode accross europe on a gsxr1000, recorded it all, and it honestly looked amazing. Ive wanted to go on a long motorcycle trip ever since watching it. However, 4000 miles is a LOT. Id make absolutely sure your back can handle it before committing to the trip.
what kind of mileage will one of these get at like 90mph?
90mph downhill and wind on your back. I average 85 in mild wind. Gas mileage on this fucker is 77mpg. probs between 65 - 70 realistically though.
>4k mile road trip
>buy H2R
>get there in 20 minutes
Should've gotten a Touring for a roadtrip. RIP your back.
CBR 250 is comfy and upright
>comfy
Tell me that after 4000 miles. No sport bike is comfy for the duration. You'll want a backrest.
Tourer or a Cruiser would have been wiser choice for long haul.
Just watched his trailer for it. His series looks excellent, im gonna binge watch this before i leave in a few days.
Ive driven this bike over 2k miles since ive purchased it. Ive only drivin 200 miles in one trip before and can say i must agree. This CBR isnt too harsh on the back. Though 4k miles will prove to be a pain im sure. Live and learn i guess. Ill do a more elaborate road trip in the future on a more suitable bike.
You ass is gonna hurt
is it 4k round trip or 4k each way? How long have you had that bike?
4k round trip. 2k at a time with 3-4 days in between. ive had the bike for 4 months now.
You won't be getting 70mpg wringing its neck out at 90mph, you'd probably be getting closer to 30-40.
I don't think 4k miles of WOT will be that good for it, OP. Not to mention your ass will be diamonds after the first 500 miles.
You are going to feel like you are 90 after the first day.
CBR250s are odd, it'll likely dip down to 50-60mpg at worst assuming OP's luggage isn't too much of a windsock. Also its a honda single cylinder, as long as OP changes the oil before the trip he can probably shoot the fucking thing and piss in his gas tank and it won't give a fuck.
Get a back/kidney belt and use it. You got a hydration pack? Did you change your oil? Got a tire repair kit? Why no tank bag?
Even though i could reach 90mph, ill be going the speed limit. 60-70mph the whole time.
Im not carrying a lot with me, 2 back packs with the essentials. Clothes, snacks, water, hegiene. I only weight 145 pounds myself. Hydration pack is a check, fresh oil and fresh tire are a check. dont have a tire kit, should get one. No tank bag simply due to not thinking about getting one. Trying to keep this trip on a low budget. Will look for a belt.
That's gonna suck dick op. Underpowered, with sports bike seating position. Your chiropractor is going to love you.
I did
It's fucken wonderful
>Got to ride through timezones, chasing sunset
>Baggers, lowriders, supersports... everyone waved and cheered
>Scooters were super gay and tried to cut me off, though
Do it!
I went for a trip on an italian twin, completely unprepared and inexperienced
Was one of the best feels ever
Thanks guys, i was kinda getting discouraged. You brought me back up
>Notice the coffee box almost off
Seriously, i had a blast, despite fucking spergs on the dbt offering their condolences
>Ended up taking my full toolbox instead of the little roadside kit because "lol, italian"
Preparing to go on a 2k mile trip on my cbr 300r around august. Im also going to travel alone, really looking forward to it. Cheers bro, make sure to record it
Hell yea dude. I'm covering my trip on Instagram. I don't have any good cameras. So my phone will do the work. Follow wolfonwheelz
