what do you know about a first generation saturn sc2? (pop ups)
THEY POP UP OUT OF THE CAR MAN
What do you know about a first generation saturn sc2? (pop ups)
car that trains the driver?
oh senpai...
come over here bb
I drove a 2002 sc2, third suicide a best
The last girl I was talking to had a first gen. The pop ups were stuck open and I think there was a refrigerant leak. I noticed it had a performance switch, but I doubt it did anything. Seems like a standard econobox with decent reliability for a gm brand
the first generation sc2 seems like its putting down good numbers. I'd love to tune it some day
...
There was a guy who tuned a 1994 Saturn SW2 wagon and did fairly well with it in SCCA touring car racing.

POWER OF DOUBLE WISHBONE
NO SHITBOX SATURN CAN COMPETE
I can confirm saturns are shit on the touge
Nah senpai.
>not knowing Saturn S-series had an IRS too
fite me faggot. see you on the touge
what a joke
Not knowing the difference between double wishbone and other suspension systems KEK
ITS A FUCKING SHITTY CAR, THE CHASSIS IS LIKE A FLOPPY NOODLE, AND ITS FF
THIS!!!
>saturn sc2
Why would you build an sc2
Sc2 vs an ion, which would you guys say is a better car?
>knowing anything about saturns suspension.
Depends on the category
>Weight
SC2
>Aftermarket support
Ion. The S-series cars used to have massive support from a single company, but that company, SPS (Saturn Performance Systems) went bust during the financial collapse of 2007/2008.
saturnfans.com
The thread on this forum actually has scans of an entire SCS catalog for 2000/2001.
>Comfort
SC2
>Driving feels
SC2. The Ion's electric power steering kinda ruins the feels.
>Handling
Tie. Though the SC2 has an IRS, and the Ion a twist beam rear axle, the Ion has the Cobalt as a sister car, and the Cobalt is still one of the best handling FWD cars.
Essentially just pick which one you like better, Though tracking down performance aftermarket parts for the SC2 is going to be hard with SPS gone.
can the first generation sc2 actually make a good tuner car? pardon my french but can it conquer the downhill?
Does the redline trump both of them?
>four wheel disk brakes
>supercharger
>two suicide doors so it's not so asymmetrical
>civic pulls on an MR2
NANI
95 SC2 vs 88 AE92 GT-S ?
how is this even a question dipshit? ae92, always
Do you know if there are any performance parts you could take from other FF tuning companies that could work with an sc2?
SC2's had 4 wheel discs. You can still find parts for the 1.9L but it's only a fraction of what used to be available.
suspension wise, you could talk to QA1. Carrera suspensions used to make reusable struts that accept cartridges from Koni and others. Carrera suspensions was bought out by QA1 suspension in 2004, so they may still be able to source ya some.
Thermal R&D offers catback exhausts
I believe Pacesetter still offers headers. JE made SPS's forged pistons, and Wiseco made their rods so I'm sure you can get them from them.
AMR engineering still makes sway bars, strut bars and coilovers
amrengineering.com
But getting things like the performance head and extrude honed intake manifold as things you'll have to talk to a machine shop for.
There's still aftermarket, but you have to search for it.
You can get SPS's catalog of what used to be available here
saturnfans.com
I really don't want to post all 46 pages here even if I saved them for future reference.
ae92 is better
No one cares. Go back to jerking off to AE101's
The AE92 is heavier
The AE92 makes less power.
Suspensions are comparable
Dimensions are comparable.
Just fit DC2 parts to the SC2 my family
Can the SC2 even do engine swaps
>Can the SC2 even do engine swaps
not easily, but they've been done. No engine just swaps right in. Saturns were only designed for Saturn's proprietary 1.9L engine, which no other company used.
Anyways, here's a 1991-1996 Saturn SC2 coupe with an LSJ 2.0L supercharged I4 from an Ion Redline swapped in.
>not a honda engine
>not a toyota engine
baka senpai this is why saturns cant touge
they cant touge
your shit
prove the sc2 is better then ae92 or ae86 even
bullshit
There's a '95 SC2 for sale near me for $900 in good condition, should I go for it? I was originally looking for a Japanese car, there's also an absolutely mint '94 Civic CX hatch for $2000, a '88 Corolla GT-S for $1800 and another for $2000 (2000 one needs an a/c compressor)
are you me?
go for ae92 moron
its a better car
better platform
better more reliable
more tuning
shorter wheelbase
Somebody explain this to me.....Why is the civic winning with such ease.
I'm no expert, but I'm thinking power to weight ratio is better than the mr2. I seriously doubt it's a stock civic
Power to weight , suspension, chassis, general set up
Also MR2s aren't all that great actually
Is ae92 really better ?
It has more aftermarket but I wouldn't say it's better
>heavier
>slower
>better
Yeah, no.
yes
if takumi had sc2 he lose all races
there's a reason sc2failed in japan
floppy chassis
slow
>sc2
>light
>there's a reason sc2failed in japan
November one wanted an indestructible plastic card made in Tennessee
>2300 lbs
>heavy
Pick one.
if its better why did toyota sprinters sell better
>implying it weighs that
FLOPPY
CHASSIS
Reminder
They are Honda fanboys.
Its a show not a scientific test. And the Hondas always seem to be just better than the other cars.
Untrue
Then why else would they put a spoon tuned civic against a stock mr2 gt
You agree FF is bad?
How difficult is am SC2 engine swap? Is it even worth staying within the same brand ?
what is weight distribution on this old Saturn sc2
Look it up. Saturn s-series are all between 2200 and 2400 lbs
If you're swapping to a non-Saturn 1.9, then decently hard.
Honda f20b!
all you have to know is the 86 never loses
youtube.com
>that comment section
Aids
this thread is terrible
>FWD GM car being shilled as a solid tuner street racer car
jesus christ
Found the fag who lost at the stop light drags to a saturn
>stop light drags
.....
wow who cares
>lost to a saturn.
I'm not even anti Saturn and wish you'd do more then just shit post about going in straight lines
Saturn's can conefag too.
>that body roll
Is the chassis as floppy as it looks
Strut bar, sway bar, and stiffer shocks do wonders. Most Saturn's didn't even come with a rear sway bar.
Where do the DC2 coils come in?
Just put a strut bar in the trunk, that'll help right
They don't
>they don't
That's insane
>plastic car
So its worse than a 240sx in every way
>floppier, no aftermarket, FF, uglier
>2 86s against an R34
>R34 finishes last
You're not fucking kidding.
nah
?
they're shitboxes, an ae92 is better
