>Halo 4 maps finally getting a little love About time. Halo 4 has good maps, it's just the Halo 4 game types were cancerous.
The Haven remake looks great
Kayden Wilson
The far left wing of the transformative party that likes Halo 4 has always hated on Haven because it was popular.
Watch them now change their tune because they need to applaud everything 5 does.
Brayden Ramirez
What else would it be?
Eli Murphy
This might be the first non-remixed DLC map. I'm sure there's some re-used assets from the Battle of Saunion, but it doesn't look like they ripped anything from an already existing map.
Luke Nelson
Halo 4 maps make the most sense as remake candidates because they were all designed with Sprint in mind, so they would naturally transfer over to 5 much easier and without serious alteration.
Josiah Roberts
I will admit that I appreciate 343's attempts at large setpieces and battlefields with multiple avenues of attack. Especially prevalent in the Sanghelios levels.
I don't think they were FULLY utilized to their advantage, though. Run-and-gun worked about as well as it always has for me.
Luke Brooks
I'm gonna make a graph with the average of everyone's rating for each campaign mission in the series. Rank each campaign level in a scale of 1-10, with 1 being "Played once, don't wanna touch it again" and 10 being "Love it, could play a dozen times and never get bored". Objectively speaking none of the games is 100% flawless or shitty, so posts with only "10s" or "1s" rankings will be ignored.
Let's start with Halo Combat Evolved: >The Pillar of Autumn >Halo >The Truth and Reconciliation >The Silent Cartographer >Assault on the Control Room >343 Guilty Spark >The Library >Two Betrayals >Keyes >The Maw

Seperate Gravemind/High Charity and Uprising/TGJ
Chase Jackson
I appreciate the joining. I agree it should be done, but the last 4 should be seperate since they're sequence broken by other levels
Mason Morris
I feel that elites should've been the enemies for the first couple of missions in ODST and then you see brutes drop in and kill them once the great schism happens
Matthew Reyes

I don't know about the whole combined levels thing
I love The Arbiter but Oracle is shit tier
Benjamin Parker
>Don't take this the wrong way, but you should delete this post. You're going too fast. Maybe post it in 20 minutes. Give more ppl time to answer Halo CE Ok, i'll leave CE and 2 for now. I'm not gonna make the graph right immediatly anyway, i'll wait until we're at 600 posts or so to give more people time to post their rankings for all games.
Jason Miller

I think the levels should be combined. I have seen so many places where people rank them while combined. He made a nice compromise by not combining the last 4
Isaiah Long
Haven was probably my favourite map in 4. Adrift and Longbow were ok.
Aaron Wood
>The Pillar of Autumn 6 It's a solid level. It serves as a good tutorial and introduces the player to the base mechanics in a way that doesn't feel too forced. >Halo 5 For me, this is the most overrated level in the franchise. I see why it's so revered for what it meant, but I don't think it has aged as well as most of the other levels in CE. >The Truth and Reconciliation 8 Phenominal sniping level combined with the storm of the ship. >The Silent Cartographer 9 We need more levels like this. More exploration-based levels that can be played in multiple ways. >Assault on the Control Room 10 The quintessential Halo Level. Possibly the best in the franchise. >343 Guilty Spark 7 Too spooky. Gets most of its points on atmosphere. >The Library 7 Kids who never played Doom will not understand. >Two Betrayals 9 Sometimes I perfer this more than AOTCR >Keyes 4 Least favorite level in the game. Infinitely respawning elites is a nuisance. >The Maw 10 Still the best final level in the franchise.
Andrew Thompson
The Pillar of Autumn 6 Halo 7 The Truth and Reconciliation 8 The Silent Cartographer 10 Assault on the Control Room 9 343 Guilty Spark 7 The Library 6 Two Betrayals 10 Keyes 8 The Maw 10
Christian Cook
>The Maw >Still the best final level in the franchise
Lone Wolf says hello
Mason Cooper
Lone Wolf is more of a bonus level. It's a nice merging of narrative and gameplay, but it can't match the forever of a real final level.
Austin Brooks
Outside of Muh story lone wolf isn't that impressive
Jordan Gutierrez
disregarding the campaigns themselves, do you prefer The Maw or Halo for your final warthog run sequence
Luke Wood
The Maw. Easily
Cameron Roberts
The Maw hands down
Sebastian James
I prefer Halo. The Maw was, understandably, a copy-paste fest, and having to stop and wait for Foehammer kills the pace a bit. The way the music changes in Halo is also good.
Adrian Russell
The Maw, probably.
I dunno, "Halo" just felt way too much like "See look it's like the end of the first game, right? Recurrence?"
I didn't like Halo 3 as a whole, though.
Jaxon Cruz
Maw
Elijah Peterson
Maw by far. Halo just felt like a cheap repeat.
Daniel Price
Maw was the better final level but Halo had the better warthog run
Brody Davis

Austin Rogers
>mfw I'm the only one here who doesn't like the Maw apparently
what's the appeal?
Jaxson Phillips
I completely disregarded Foehammer my first few times because by the time I realized Cortana said to stop, she already started the rest of her dialogue and the new waypoint
Jonathan Powell
>The Pillar of Autumn 5/10 >Halo 6/10 >The Truth and Reconciliation 8/10 >The Silent Cartographer 9/10 >Assault on the Control Room 9/10 >343 Guilty Spark 7/10 >The Library 7/10 >Two Betrayals 9/10 >Keyes 5/10 >The Maw 10/10
James Wood
I don't get it either. It was just the first level with some flood added and having to put four grenades into tubes that sometimes don't register the grenades.
Well if you don't stop, you're not playing it "right."
Ian Anderson
I want to buy Gold but don't want to shell out 60$ Cad, is this a good deal or will it go lower within the next few weeks? Occasionally it goes to 27 right?
>The Pillar of Autumn 8 >Halo 4 >The Truth and Reconciliation 4 >The Silent Cartographer 5 >Assault on the Control Room 4 >343 Guilty Spark 6 >The Library 5 >Two Betrayals 3 >Keyes 3 >The Maw 5
CE is my least favorite campaign, the scores here are pretty generous.
Halo, I love the jump at the end into the back of the Forward Unto Dawn and then the quick cut to the cinematic with the music carrying over into it.
>waiting for foehammer
Thomas Hall
>waiting for foehammer >this final level is great if I skip parts of it and don't count it towards my score

Alright, Halo 2's turn. I'm gonna put some time between each game's post but this doesn't mean you can't rank previous games, it's just to give some time to think between each post. I decided to put together the levels in Halo 2 that were clearly cut in the middle. HALO 2: >Cairo Station
>Outskirts/Metropolis
>The Arbiter/The Oracle
>Delta Halo/Regret
>Sacred Icon/Quarantine Zone
>Gravemind
>Uprising
>High Charity
>The Great Journey
Jaxson Allen
Halo. The fact we'd already had a warthog run doesn't really affect me as they're both fantastic. Halo always has fantastic vehicle orientated missions.
I find Halo to have the better warthog run of the 2 as, in my opinion, the build up and tension is just greater. The platforms falling, cortana reading out how close the charging was, the fact you have to make the jump at the end and you had a lot more movement in the run whereas the maws was clunky at times
Nicholas Kelly
>The Pillar of Autumn 5 >Halo 7 >The Truth and Reconciliation 7 >The Silent Cartographer 10 >Assault on the Control Room 9 >343 Guilty Spark 6 >The Library 6 >Two Betrayals 10 >Keyes 5 >The Maw 5

The Maw. Halo was too short. And way too underwhelming.

The Maw only because it felt dangerous. Halo's warthog speed seemed slow in comparison, there was really no danger either.
Joshua Hernandez

Hopefully we get the rest of the req weapons.
Nolan Hernandez
So we still kicking every non-onyx at the end of this season?
John Ortiz
I think it's a bit boring once you get past the beginning bit with the scorpion.
Carson Watson
No we're kicking anyone sub 10k halo gs
Adrian Jenkins
Actually, we decided just kick you two and call it good.
Cameron Johnson
Most likely, I'm looking forward to using the file browser.
Wyatt Jenkins
91/100 So who all got kicked? What's the amount of H5 games required per month now?
Henry Wilson
>Cairo Station 8 Possibly the best opening mission in a Halo game. It filters out the casuals fast and let's you know they're really upping the ante from CE. >Outskirts/Metropolis 10 The range of combat variety here is fantastic. >The Arbiter/The Oracle 8 Nice stealth segments mixed with great 3 way enemy combat. >Delta Halo/Regret 10 Everything from the art direction to the challenge is pure sex. >Sacred Icon/Quarantine Zone 10 Who says flood levels can't be great? Well, maybe a lot of people, but the pacing of this level is perfect. You really feel like you're trudging your way to the library. We also need the sentinel variants to return. >Gravemind 10 One of the longer Halo 2 levels, this level really pushes you to your limit. The civil war aspect is very engaging as well and offers shit tons of replayability. >Uprising 8 Despite being split up, this level really captures what it attempts to display. You're assembling a team and leading a resistance. >High Charity 6 Too short. They should have just kept it with gravemind. Nonetheless, not a bad mission. >The Great Journey 8 Halo 2 ends a bit lackluster. Clearly a rushed final product, but despite this, TGJ still holds up.
Halo 2 is a game that rests largely on its challenge and difficulty. It's punishing but not cheaply so. When you beat it on legendary/LASO, you really feel accomplished, as opposed to later entries that are easier on legendary than Halo 2 is on heroic.
Lucas Miller
Always been 20
Gavin Howard
>non-dedicated sub-onyx shitter detected
Cameron Gomez
120 That's an average 4 games a day. That means if you play 20 games one Friday night, you're for the next Monday through friday. Oh, and this counts campaign and customs, so you really have no excuse.
