any style but adept works for it, but striker makes it so you don't have to hold R the entire time when you're just giving your kinsect commands

Deviants are terrible if only because I shouldn't have to fight thirty to forty to get all the shit I want (more if you're talking Hellblade powders, fuck that shit).

I have 28 hunted Hellblades, with a couple dozen not counted because I Abandoned due to not getting powders, and all I have to show for it is one weapon. Justify that fucking bullshit.

I would be willing to bet money--actual money--that no one has hunted Alatreon fifty times without getting a single gem. But that's RNG, so it IS possible.

I-X is not RNG. It's required. You HAVE to fight a deviant thirtyish times if you want a full armor set. That's terrible. I'm all for making armor take effort to acquire, but for fuck's sake, just design the monster to be a challenging battle instead of making me do an easy one thirty times.

Hellblade powders dropping only from shinies is a completely separate issue that I think is just batshit retarded, there's no proper justification for it.

I like Hyper Monsters as an "endgame" alternative to G-Rank, but I think they could have done a lot better with the concept.

Like I think it's really interesting that the 'hyper spots' move around from part to part on the monster, and that different attacks are keyed to different body parts and get stronger depending on where those spots are, but neither of those things have a very big effect on how you fight the monster, because (AFAIK) the spots just fill your HA gauge faster without changing hit zone vulnerabilities, and the buffed attacks don't really seem to make enough of a difference that you're suddenly more concerned about claw swipes or tail swings on a monster that primarily bites you, or vice versa.

Even when I needed a Rath mantle, I still had most of its armor set except for that one piece. I could mix and match. I had options. I could say "fuck it" if I wanted to. But Deviants? Nope. What if they had this system for every monster? Would that be preferable to RNG? Boy, I'm sure glad I don't need this Skymerald anymore. Just twenty-nine more Zinogres to go!
