Make sure to fire at ships many times beyond your max torpedo range. Also fire as soon as they load in spawn, preferably at allies.

While BB's do have a lot of range, and it's useful in the first stage of the match when teams deploy and everybody pokes each other. But as the match develop, battlelines begin to break up and players begin to spread. That's when you can use the opportunity to make a push (just make sure you're not alone in this. Press F7). At a range of around 12 km, you should be able to hit more things.

Also, use AP ammo. As a general rule for battleships:
>Shoot AP at cruisers
>Shoot AP at battleships
>Shoot HE at destroyers (though if you have AP loaded when a DD pops out, shoot him with that AP)

Just keep in mind that battleships in general are not all that accurate, not all your shells are going to land. Myogi is not a particularly good ship, since it only has 6 guns and they're arranged in a very bad setup, so don't be discouraged if it doesn't perform as well as you would. You should aim to do somewhere around 40k average damage, some matches more, some matches less; though don't stress yourself out too much about it.

Things get better once you get Kongo. You should also give the german BB line a try; they're very good and fairly easy to play and do well with.
There are several reticles available directly through the game interface, which were directly based off some of the most popular reticle mods.

I personally recommend the scalable reticle, though with time you'll barely pay attention to the marks, calculating lead unconsciously.

Close the range and save your shots for targets that show you their sides.
If you are shooting at max range, aim very slightly above the waterline, so the shells hit the deck for plunging penetration.

No need for mods, just pick one you like from the settings. I just take the static one that goes the full width of the screen without fading. I may try dynamic now that I know how it works.
