People are afraid that people looking at the ad could get their home address from their plate or some shit. Whether that's from looking it up somehow or following them home, I don't know. I wouldn't see a point in it because a lot of these cars are all unique and equally as shitty and most of the time the owner puts the (approximate) address in the ad itself, so with a bit of driving around one could easily find the house if they really wanted to
