I'm shit at FPSes in general, how do I become competent at least?

why does the mini chaingun fucking suck so much

i last played this game in like 2012, i dont remember buying the mcg but i have one on my terran guy and it's a pile of shit. why is the defining weapon of the terran republic so awful? i feel like i have 1000 totally wasted certs now, the carv is better in like every regard.

at least it wins in close quarters battles, when the mcg with a BRRT still loses to everything else in the game due to spinup time, and prefiring lets the enemy know you are coming so they are already aimed at head level.

It's not bad at all, stop trying to use it like an LMG, it's an SMG on steroids.

You "people" still thought the MCG was underpowered even when you could over-fit it with mods. If it could fire instant-gib long range nuke-lasers you'd all still bitch about it.

Lower sensitivity and go for the head. You also need to be able to run the game at 60+ fps all times.
Something like 30cm/360 hipfire is pretty common.

Just find some guides on mouse sensitivity.

all they need to do is make it like the planetside 1 MCG: no spinup time, it kills any non-max in 1/4 of a second of direct fire, and allow the use of AP ammo so you can kill maxes with it in 1/2 a second if you want, but it's a garbage weapon outside of close quarters as it should be.

PS2 MCG is garbage in close quarters and utterly unusable outside of that range. Spinup time is what fucks it over.

I tried out some construction today.

I collected some crystals, I made a silo, I put the crystals in the silo.

I collected more crystals, I built three walls, I built a bunker, I built turrets.

Then a lib appeared and wiped it all out, likely gaining more XP for destroying it in seconds than I did for spending a fucking hour putting it all together.

I think it should also be able to kill shielded Vanguards and sunderers in 1s, and have an alternate sniping mode with less RPM (around 500) where it kills in one body shot.

ps1 decimator could kill a fully shielded fully healed bfr with 3 decimators (9 shots) if you knew where to shoot, and it kills any max in a single shot (unless it's a shielded NC max) and any MBT in 1 shot to the rear.

PS2 decimator takes 2 shots to kill a MAX and 3 shots to REAR ARMOR to kill a MBT. It's shit.

For me the game became far more enjoyable once I managed to play it at a solid 60fps.

I was suddenly able to actually kill people instead of sitting here saying "WHAT THE FUCK I TOTALLY SHOT THAT CUNT WHAT THE FUCK OH COME ON FUCK WHAT". You see, that is because I was bad.

With improved FPS I was able to unlock a special technique called Aiming Better which multiplied my killing potential many times.

I also use CLAB.exe
