Even though I know this is b8 I'll bite.
Civics are the go-to car for Kanjo Loop racing. Japs love FF.
There just weren't a lot of Japanese FF cars in the 90s that could support enough hp to go 300 kph. Plus the short wheelbase of most FFs didn't help
