I found a strange bug in automatron, I just finished taking over the mechanist lair and went back to sanctuary to create a full robobrain, everthing went well, named the thing Judas and gave him full upgrades, but I noticed his name was not showing up anywhere.

I dismissed him and tried calling him back to the robotworkbench, but he is no longer showing up, I can still call him to travel, but the thing wont show his name, I reloaded a save and tried again, and now if I mod anything in a new robot it will stop showing even the default name and become forever impossible to mod in all settlements.

I was expecting the reward for that quest to be something interesting, like a special weapon or armor that will give 10% chance to find legendary items or whatever.

Instead I get to watch bottle and cappy laughing and dancing while my settlers try to battle deathclaws or the occasional all consuming fire, its too fucking creepy.

I cant wait for this event to be over, I had enough of bottle and cappy cavorting like devils in my vault.

So I beat the game as Institute, went back to CIT and killed everyone possible, thing is they'll still let me teleport back in and the essentials will still give me radiant quests. Anyone know if the synths or coursers will respawn eventually?

I made a Vault tec lunchbox looping machine.

Unfortunately:
>Destroyed boxes go back to workshop when stored through hopper, so you will need LOTS of them crammed into the machine
>You have to manually shoot each one to open them, turrets will not work right

The items that came out went straight to workshop instead of the sorter I made so that was neat I guess.

I tested it for around 10 minutes, got 5 nuka Colas, 1 noddle cup, 3 gumdrops, 1 sugar bombs, and a lot of plastic and steel. Its neat but I don't think its worth the hassle unless you get lucky with the drops.

Did you try the stationary gun?

It breaks after 10 shots or so and needs to be repaired. Same for flamethrower.

That one user that asked if dumping 500 lunchboxes into a pit, throwing a grenade in, and then pushing a trap door that drops all the contents into a hopper might be way more efficient than what I built.

Lunch boxes sometimes have fusion cores, wonderglue, robot models and ice cold nuka cola variants. Rarer than junk food and cutlery. Not sure if luck plays a part, or if you're just dependent on RNG.

Not necessarily. In Libertalia they just bullied caravans and settlements for money. Same with the raiders around Bunker Hill. Raider is a very general term, but it always comes back to getting what you want by being stronger than others. But the others do this in their own way as well.
A gangster does, but he usually has some alternative code of honor and a list of things he has to do to still be more than a sociopath in his own eyes. A mercenary is similar to a gangster, and sticks strictly to the idea of "just following orders" and just doing what he was paid to do. This is pretty general obviously, but my point is that a raider is only different from these groups in that a raider has no honor or twisted code of criminal ethics to justify his actions.

I have never found a fusion core from a lunch box. Then again I have never found a robot model from them either. I think I maybe got one 1 cold quantum from one.

This requires mods but with a pitching machine, synth grenade, and robot butcher device you can actually get lots of circuitry, aluminum, steel, copper, etc from gen 1 synths. Even without the robot butcher device its basically free institute weapons anyway.

With console'd 1000 luck I get models 95% of the time.

The fact that enemies are supposed to show comradery in their dialogue makes me wish they showed it mechanics a bit. Like it's possible to put an enemy into a 'downed' state before you can finish them where their allies might rush over with a stimpack and such.

But that's wrong friendo. For me raiding is all about taking shit, whether it be from humans, robots, ghouls, or mutants. Killing the owners is so they can't raid shit I was might want to raid and so people know I've already raided this place. Raiding the same place and people over and over takes the sport out of it, at that point nothing is standing in your way and you're basically being handed the things instead of taking them.
