not that ill ever buy one or want one but i browse craigslist to look at prices of cars and noticed these went from around 2-3k to now 4-5k
even the broken up ones are up
i dont know why

All the ones on my CL are cheap as fuck but I see them getting sold every couple months because people can't fix them. There's one right now for $400 because the guy lost his keys.

First gens are cheap as chips when not running, but the 1st and 2nd gens have gone up in value...
You have to understand that these cars were selling at around $80.000 in todays dollars. Just like an expensive BMW or Mercedes the parts are not cheap, and this car hates cheap parts.
I own one, its a blast.

There are huge gatherings and owners seem to be wealthy, some own 4 low mileage vr4s and vr4 spyders... It's honestly mid blowing.
Great thing is that they are willing to give you a hand for just a beer.
Theres a guy in the forums that hoards vr4s just to part them out. Hes had more than 40 vr4s and very often he does a "free parts, pay for shipping" only threads.

Well they are somewhat unique because people don't talk about them a lot. Perhaps they are seeing a rise in popularity suddenly, the next e30 M3 or NSX haha.
