Vic 2 is easier than eu4. eu4 actually has complex war mechanics. victoria 2 is just stacking troops.

Our OP always has an infotopic exemplifying what kind of games "Grand Strategy" is. The ones that areost posted here are Crusader Kings 2 (feudalism, Crusades, Mongol invasion, etc.), Europa Universalis 4 (Mercantilism, Age of Enlightenment, etc.), Victoria 2 (Industrial Revolution, Scramble for Africa, WW1, etc.), Hearts of Iron 3 (WW2) and Darkest Hour (WW1 up to the start of the Cold War). We would get a Cold War game some time ago but, like in every company, we got that one big jackass who always fucks up and ruins everyone's fun.

You see, paradox coined the term "grand strategy" as a marketing ploy, which they use to refer to their badly made map painting simulators, and given that this general is about paradox games, it's called """grand""" """strategy""" general.

What are some unironic new pop types you would add to the game?

I would add colonists: state-funded, specialized groups of people who have an extremely high colonial migration rate and thus will allow you to send people to your colonies no matter how good or shitty the conditions in your homeland are.

They would get paid off the administration budget and buy a large variety of goods for their needs: mainly goods they need for any colonization efforts such as guns, ammo, fertilizer, explosives, cement etc.

Once they migrate to a colony they will promote into farmers/labourers, clergymen, soldiers, bureaucrats and landowners at a higher rate.

Like I said, it's a way for a government to send well-trained people to develop their colonies if they can afford it and if no ordinary citizens are willing to go there by their own.
