Yup. A lot doodles during those long lectures. Here's a sample of my sketch.

Is that a tesla?

Hideous/10

>Veeky Forums
>free time
it's track day bro

Yup. That's my imagination of how a Tesla GT would look like.
Thanks for the feedback.

>Dat ahegao front end
wew lad

Same guy as thisIn the world of angry looking cars mainly hatchbacks, would you all accept my design of a plain looking RWD hatchback that is powered by an e-motor or a reliable engine sourced from Toyota or Ford?

Opinions are welcome too.

your perspective needs improvement senpai

Nah, I've never been good at cars, could never get the perspective right. But I've never really put enough time in to learn how to properly draw them.

11/10

That's a great feedback on improving! I'm still a toddler in sketching and gotta say that's a fine sketch bro.
Haha XD

his perspective is fine he just didnt use a computer to do the ellipse or him.

Random Zcar doodles found in my old sketch book
I call the top 2,"the 420Z"

I think this is the coolest out of my doodles

absolutedogshit/10

how do I into sketching like a professional car designer without having to study automotive design

Juts practice and referencing others?

use references and draw till your good, trust me, you will get better if you just keep drawing. so draw a lot.

I like 'em.

Do you really wanna do it? Are you aware that the pay for a car designer is literal dogshit(everything on the internet about the pay are lies) and that you may have to wait for the company to pick you up from a long line of car Design graduates that pass out each year?
Unless you sketch super cool shit and it catches an eye of a Studio Manager you're not going to get anywhere. Even if you get an acceptance letter, you are more likely to end up designing the door handles, dashboard design(hold in there, I was speaking about the smaller things like the buttons on it, etc), side mirrors, etc other smaller things. It is literally a 1 in 500,000 chance.

You can start up your own design studio but remember the number of design studios that exist just for cars and do you think they at least gain a good amount to sustain themselves?

Every car company has a minimum of 3 design studios; which is of their own. They literally never recruit new people in and if they do, it's just for a short period of time and you are out of job. Basically you do freelancing here.

And speaking about freelancing, there are a hundred thousand of them. I personally know a few of them and most have quit following their dreams out of hopelessness and went into small graphic studio labs. Therefore wasting all those money put in the college to gain this degree.

This link backs up my post.

Without a degree, I see no chance of anyone getting in this field.

Sometimes

>/car-designers-the-cruel-reality-5746

One of those fields where there always seem to be more people who want to do it than there are slots, so management knows it always has the upper hand and squeezes you for all you're worth and then some.

Bet it's great to be the client or manager of a design studio, a worker bee, not so much...

Why be a faggot and spend your time drawing?

Learn how to use a plasma cutter and a welder and make something. Like the NASCARlo

youtube.com/watch?v=YUefSKCjP8w

I don-t want to work as a car designer, i am going to study engineering but would like to complement it with design

Well I already do that at work, and I don't use plasma, oxyacetylene bro

>stone age technology.
made me laugh, you can't really make a CNC Oxy torch cutter.

Yes I draw shakotan cars and muscle cars, in a cartoonish style, just like you OP.

>tfw started studying Industrial Design to get into Car Designing
>tfw I read it's the hardest and most competitive branch
>tfw I met a famous car designer last weekend and he waxed poetic about pencil sketching in small studios and hammering out sheet metal prototypes in the 60's
>tfw I will never

Well I do mill shit with HSS. Can't make 3D objects with a fucking plasma cutter, 2D cutting a shit

The world sucks now

No, but I'd like to get into pinstriping and custom lettering.

Here's one I did in 2012. It's for a game I'm in. The N7 was a jab at my characters last name.

And it also shows why I don't draw cars.

sometimes

Yes

5000 HOURS IN MS PAINT

How do you have time to post on 4chins than?

now in popular meme car form

me and my actually talented friend used to draw popular Veeky Forums cars a while back
i would trace them then she would color/fix my shitty lines

mostly meme cars with a few lucky anons

I draw some shit on occasion, haven't drawn any cars in a while tho. Might have to pick that up again. but all I have are classic jdm shit

...

This makes me miss the flockmod threads ;_:

idk they kinda got out of hand

I had a couple drawings from years ago, basically if you took the front of a neo-retro mustang from the 00s and stuck it on a hatchback. I thought it was pretty sweet.

yes but it always looks like absolute dog shit

It's all about practice like any other skill. Start with basic shapes and fill in details after

I used to have a dream of building a one of car. My own custom body on a prebuilt frame for registration purposes. I used to draw all sorts of designs. I finally did one that had all the Veeky Forums features I wanted (Esp. Pop up headlights). I went and drew all perspectives and tried to 3d model it. I got far enough to start doing parts lists and ordering lots of steel.

But then life happened. I never even got started. hrew my amazing (in my mind) concept drawings and models away and never came back to it.
So sad my life is.

YOU RIKE RICEY POPUPS?

I like your doodle user.

Popups are the shit. Ped safety is a bitch.

...

I'm lefty, so my hand always rests and leaves these stupid ass markings. Took only like 10 minutes.

So am I.

Occasionally I'll stop and take the eraser to my hand to get the accumulated lead off.

I just wash it off after im done or erase the marks. Sometimes i forget i have it and look at my hand covered in lead.

fuck artists

i hate you people

Do an another short-term degree in between like a diploma or something just to back up.

Make yourselves the centre of attraction by drawing like shit tons. Soon some day you'll be noticed. Good luck user.

Also I didn't actually mean that people don't get jobs at design studios but the numbers are less; that's what I meant.

>E-ART-H
The world is nothing without them. They make the worst look beautiful. The transform something hideous to something that's good for the eyes to look at.

i walked outside this morning and saw a fantastic sunrise with two deer on my front yard and artists had NOTHING to do with it

>Want to post recent render
>Reverse image search shows my Portolio and full name
welp

>I could flip the image horizontally and google can't find me
>Flipping an image horizontally is super easy

>implying we won't flip it back after this
Why do you really care? I mean, if you have public info about you on the web, it's inevitable that people will see it (I guess that's your goal in the end), why does it matter if those visitors are from Veeky Forums? I mean it's not like that we could do anything against you, this is not some kind of underage hacker fantasy.

that's what I mean - flipping the image is just a minor inconvenience

I've seen the kind of shit people from this website can accomplish - I guess after a while you kind of get paranoid

The world is the most beautiful in two times of a day; the morning and evening.
Anything beautiful is a work of an art. It necessarily don't have to be a person doing art. It can be mother nature too.

Every boy has had dreams of building up a car company. Some become brutal successes. Some fade away to nothing.
Pagani did it right. Loaned (AFAIK) machinery, designed himself, has less employees and makes one of the best cars anyone has ever seen.

I reimagined your concept.
Since of regulations on pop-up, I made it like when you switch on the headlamps, the panel goes in then down and the lamps come forward. I hope that's legal.

i make shit while at school not paying attention

Heres a real stupid one

needs bigger wheels and smaller windows.
Go with the times grandpa

FUCK YOU
POP UPS, I DON'T WANT SHITTY CELICA MK.II PUSH-OUTS

heres one i spent about 40 minutes on in paint.net
fucking hell man.

Behold my Gladiator Predator Savagery edition!
Okay, I suck at naming.

Opinions on this?

draw a car with small rims but huge tires. not this modern crap

is that the son of an impreza and a maestro?

That's just an imagination. I'll try that.

all your cars look the same and all your perspectives are shit

Can you draw?

flockmod.com/aut/o/

lets do this

yes

Well, then show it.
