When to cast phoenix flames in a Patchwerk fight?
If I cast them directly after fireball it overrides heating up because of the different travel time.
If I cast them to activate hot streak I have to awkwardly wait for the fireball to hit the target.
Either way it feels clunky, what's the trick?

You also want to use frostbrand to maintain hailstorm if you talent it and should be using stormstrike whenever available, not just waiting for procs. Talenting boulderfist, which is a solid idea, also complicates the rock biter spam slightly. It's mainly about optimization and making sure to maintaining your buffs, and avoid maxing Maelstrom while using your hardest hitting spells as much as possible.

When you think about using dimensional rifts to damage the target, first things that come to your mind would be opening one that leads to the inside of a star, one that leads to some god forsaken void zone or one that blasts a gigantic piece of crystallized nether towards the target.

With combustion you can use them after pyro since the pyro always crits but I think fire blast is higher priority.
