There's nothing wrong with the high-end, and even midrange mustangs as sport, muscle, or purely fun track cars. Nothing.

Thing is, up until recently, mustangs (among other American 'prestige' or desireable cars like cadillacs and corvettes) had shitty cheap trim and interior, not exactly the best build quality (not saying Germany is meme toyota level either), and were generally just a car that looked god, had a nice big engine, and were good value for money. Nothing else.

It's not like I've owned every type of mustang for a considerable amount of time, I'm just repeating what supposed professionals say, and justifying the reputation of the car with consumer reports. A Mustang GT350 Shelby is without room for argument, a fantastic car in many aspects. You get the same sort of stuff as a Lamborghini with slightly less performance and track ability, for a bloody low price. But the reason it seems to have all the performance and features and looks for that price is that it has no sophistication. I'm sure the body panels and leather interior didn't take Hans and Fritz 1000 hours to make with a millimetre thick tool. I know that after driving it in start stop rush hour traffic for a couple of hours you feet and hands will hurt and you will hate everything with a passion. I knot that after 6 hours on the autobahn you will be deaf, numb, and nearly dead from exhaustion.

The reason why there is a discrepancy in car prices is old people stuff, and the seemingly insignificant things that you don't care about until you have to deal with it everyday or for hours at a time. A 9/10 hooker that does anything is a lot easier than the 9/10 girl who won't do anal because she has no depth or longevity. That's the diffference between an all-out fantasy car versus boring reality. When you're old, and sore, and wise, and weak, you'll understand why a boring arse mercedes can be nicer than a screaming mustang.

All BMW SUVs sold here are made in the US, some 5 series were built in Mexico previously, some current 3 series are from South Africa and all next generation 3 series will come from Mexico. Most BMW cars are shipped from Germany.
