I am sure it is, definitely more economical too. The 335d just had massive amounts of torque that made it really special, killed the MPG to make it not so practical though.

Highest I've seen at a pump is 116 octane. I can get 120+ in 5-55 gallon drums. Nearest high octane station sells 112.

I have a VP racing distributor/gas station where I live. On hand they have:
120 VP (I think leaded, only by the 55 gallon drum, not on pump)
113 VP (Leaded)
101 VP (Unleaded)
100 Low lead (aviation grade? Listed as a non-vp fuel and "Off Road Only")
98L (VP "Motorsport")
92 Non ethanol
E85
And biodiesel. I sill just get regular 87. But it's cool to look at. I work at an airport, so I fuck with some 100LL every now and then with my motorcycle ('78 XL 350). It doesn't like it, but I convince myself it does.
