Get windows tinted 7% below legal limit

>Get windows tinted 7% below legal limit
>Get pulled over literally minutes after I leave the tint shop
>Get $250 ticket
>Have to remove it and spend another $250 bucks to get legal tint

why did you stop?

Ecoboost?

The high price of being a Mexican

It doesn't help that I drive a straight piped STi

>>Get windows tinted 7% below legal limit
What made you choose an illegal tint?

>knowingly pays for illegal tint
>complains about penalty for breaking the

Maybe don't break the law if $250 is a lot of money to you, poorfag

>yfw the shop is in cahoots with the cop to get more money from suckers like you

>break the law
>get punished
Crazy how that works

>Driving in anything more than 30% tint

I bet the cop purposefully hangs out around the tint shop to be a dick.

>drove with illegal ass limo tint in California for years
>didn't even know it was illegal until after I moved
>never got pulled over

why the fuck do they even let people get tint thats against the law in the first place

The tint laws only apply to public roads.

ur moms a public road :^)

Just got limo tint on my car last week. Tint shop had me sign a disclaimer that my car was an offroad or show vehicle only.

>sign paper
>drive away on the street in my off road
>stay nice and cool because California is hot as fuck right now

Something tells me the cops just wait outside the tint shop to hand out tickets. Must help their quota for the month.

This is my one fear, I really want to black out my windows but fucking cops would pull me over knowing my luck.

How does a cop determine the tint value when he pulls you over? I'd think that that would be easy to fight.

Never lived in the south so I've never needed tint, but it's one of those dumb questions I've never gotten an answer to.

They use a machine that on one side shines a light through your window and on the other side there's a sensor that reads how much of said light is passing through

Idk about your state but in some places its a secondary offence in that they can't pull you over for it but they can wrote you a ticket for tint if you get pulled over for other shit

Doesn't that require a consent to a search?

>e-e-excuse m-me officer a-am I being d-d-detained?
>w-what is your p-probable c-cause?

Lol I doubt it they don't need to even be in your car to do it.

>Implying that shit matters anymore

The cops dont care unless you have cash, so id advise you stay clean even if you think theres no cops around. They dont care

If they can see something from outside the car that provides probable cause (illegal tint, crack pipe in cupholder, open bottles of beer, etc) then they have free reign to do whatever the fuck they want.

>The law exists
>The law protects against more than murder and theft
>There are "people" who enforce it like it's the word of god knowing full well that they are taking large amounts money from ordinary people just for going against the word of old rich people who don't live among the public they try to regulate

Horrible how that is

In my state tint laws only apply to front windows, and I have full windows, so when I get pulled over I just lower both windows.

Yeah, but this is why you have a dash cam, and know of a good traffic attorney. If they don't have probable cause, a good traffic lawyer can cause all sorts of hell. You don't ask if you are being detained, you just say you don't consent to any searches, and ask them to write you a ticket if they think you are doing something wrong.

Why bother wasting time on someone who probably only has a high school level education. Even if he understand the law, he can make things annoying for you. Just fight it in court. If you break the law, you should be prepared to pay for it one way or another.

Is everyone laughing at you again for being pulled over how many times now?

>knowingly get windows tinted darker than ordinance allows
>come to Veeky Forums and cry about it when you get caught
Fucking retard.

Not if they smell weed.
Also, protesting that you didn't consent is 'resisting arrest', and grounds for shooting.

> Land of the free
> Home of the brave

tints are for faggots, legal or otherwise

Remember, cops do lie. And they know the law better than you (although not as well as a lawyer does).

You don't like the law? Change it.
Otherwise stop trying to ruin the order of society with stupid ideals.

>own auto shop
>dumbass boy racer comes in wanting an illegal window tint
>know this, but do it anyway
>call steve on the force
>"Hey steve, license plate XXX just got an illegal tint, easy ticket"
>>"Thanks!"
>boyracer picks up his car
>gets ticketed immediately
>now he has to pay me again to do a legal tint

>Get windows tinted 7% below legal limit
reading comprehension.
you lack it.

The problem is not that he's whining. The problem is that it's an ordinance.

>>Have to remove it and spend another $250 bucks to get legal tint
This line makes it clear that OP applied tint in excess of what was legal. If your reading comprehension was good, this line would have made you realize this.

Instead, you correct someone over a non-existent mistake.

I wonder how much of the automotive industry is funded by young and dumb these days.

Just in case this isn't bait.

The lower the percentage the darker the tint. If he got it 7% below the legal limit, that means it was darker than what is legally allowed by his state.

Tinting laws do protect me from murder.
Being able to see if a cager is paying attention, or a nigger, is very important to my safety.

Who else illegal here? 35 front 20 back

10% all around

Tint laws are gay. really all traffic laws are gay. Traffic cops deserve no respect, they don;t fight real crime or do anything risky. They just take money from people who are trying to have fun. me going 130mph at 3am with nobody on the road isn't hurting anybody. Neither is having dark windows or loud exhausts.

Depends on the windows that its used on, in ausfag land the front windscreen and 2 front door windows are one percentage and the rest can go a fair bit darker

my first car i tinted it was silver, looked good, benefit of shade inside.

my car now is dark green so a tint would look kinda korny, gonna leave it stock..i'd rather not get pulled over i have a friend with the same kind of car but with windshield and limo tint and he always is getting tickets..im worried if i have something illegal in my car and they wanna search.

>why the fuck do they even let people get tint thats against the law in the first place

There's lots of things that shops tint that aren't cars. So it makes sense for the shop to have rolls of dark tint in their storage racks. Besides cars, my favorite tint shop does:

a. house windows
b. store windows
c. advertising window displays
d. door wraps

>Something tells me the cops just wait outside the tint shop to hand out tickets.
It's not worth their while to do that. Besides, there are more calls than there are police to handle them, so you can call in a car prowl (busted window, stolen items) and it can be 2 days later someone shows up. They have to go handle calls.due to the ever growing homeless menace causing the crime rate to go way up.

Our area was trying to solve the homeless problem (and would have succeeded) except other states saw that and simply sent all their homeless problems to us by offering free bus tickets and $150 in their pocket. The problem is that they do that with their mentally-ill cases and released prison convicts, so our state ends up top-heavy with ex-felons and other ex-criminals. So the homeless population shifted drastically from being out of work people to being a really troublesome crime-oriented set of people. And many of these were "hardened" by a stay in prison and thus were more cunning, ruthless, and willing to plan a little bit than the normal criminal in order to avoid being caught the next time.

So no, our cops would not have any time to wait outside a tint shop to catch you. They're swamped with calls to deal with existing crimes many of which never get an officer to visit and have to be called in to the police station and sworn to be truth. In some cases, the victim has to show up at city hall or any police branch to sign forms if the crime was a large amount (insurance).

Would it be illegal to replace all windows in your car with two-way mirrors so you could see out but anyone trying to look in would only see their reflection?

I mean, it's not technically a "tint." What would they even charge you with?

>Doesn't that require a consent to a search?

No, he can see that your windows are dark. That is grounds for reasonable suspicion. Also grounds for reasonable suspicion are that you are highly antagonistic in attitude (upheld by state supreme court), have a suspicious passenger (upheld by state supreme court), are on parole (parolees have much fewer rights in my state), are a convicted felon (felons have much fewer rights in my state), or if you have a "cooked" look to you. Some drugs cause a skin flush, and that is reasonable suspicion in my state for a search of the car.

Also, if you have opened alcoholic beverage containers, that can trigger a search. That's why you should not even carry totally dry beer bottles or beer cans in the truck bed. Even if it was dry recyclable scrap from a week ago, if the officer sees even one, he can legally demand a sobriety test. It's another reason why if I ever buy alcohol, I put it in the trunk. That way, I cannot be accused of having it in the cabin with me. Not that I plan on having a wreck, but if the alcohol busts open during a wreck, that would also make me look bad. As in "after the accident, the officer AND news reporter smelled obvious alcohol stench coming from the driver". That would certainly look bad in the news and I'd be convicted by popular stereotype opinion even though I was innocent.

>The cops dont care unless you have cash,
Yah, if a search turns up a lot of cash, the cops always suspect you are up to no good. They are just playing statistics.

Don't most state police departments usually have a highway patrol division whose sole purpose is to handle law enforcement pertaining to the road?

Local cops and other branches of the state police usually handle 911 calls, warrants, and other stuff do they not?

Given that it could make sense that a highway patrol officer could hang out around a tint shop on purpose to catch some easy prey.

>130 mph
You're a public danger, so yes, they should stop you.

>Loud exhausts
>3 AM

fuck you if you do this in a residential area

Dark windows I mostly agree, it's more of a "can I see who's in this car if I have to pull him over" or some shit.

That's a funny idea. I'm sure they'd find a nice legalese for it, but they'd get you in trouble. Think about it, "Rubbing my bare ass against my neighbors poodle" is not an offense, but I'm sure public indecency or something would apply.

You're not wrong, but I'm sure you'd get a lot more from hiding in a corner unmarked by a fast road. Plus you get the fun chase, not sitting outside a tint shop hoping someone comes out illegal after 30 minutes waiting.

>tints are for faggots,

It makes it harder for criminals to look inside the car. They don't just bust windows open at random. I might be shopping, so I will have things in the back seat when I go to other stores. And yes, criminals walk through all the various parking lots and as they walk by they look inside. Stopping to try to peer through a tinted window makes them look suspicious so they don't do that. Thus, the tinted window car gets ignored.

It might sound counterintuitive to you. But instead of tinted windows causing the thief to break the window to see what's inside, they just move on. The shopping plazas are all next to each other, and basketball americans will walk through the parking lots since there are no loitering laws. So they don't hang around circling one lot but instead walk all the lots on both sides of the street. There's no law against walking even if you didn't buy anything. At least not yet but constitutional rights are always getting whittled down.

Anyways, having tinted windows does a lot to stop opportunistic viewing of your car as the basketball americans walk by.

Nobody is on the road but me. If I crash, I'm the only one getting hurt.

you must live in a place where the sun does not shine ever.

Your mothers anus

>if a search turns up a lot of cash, the cops always suspect you are up to no good

If a search turns up a lot of cash, the cops want to find a reason to make that cash theirs, regardless of who you are.

FTFY

I feel your pain OP
>have 20% on rear windows
>stupid bitch in last apartments rental office demands parking sticker back
>adhesive on sticker is so strong I know have an odd shaped hole about the size of a silver dollar in my rear windshield tint

sounds like you live in a real shitty place, guess you can't afford tints. pleb.

>pulled over for petty offense
>3 hoodrats killed in drive bys 2 hrs later

Anyone else's town like this?

says the guy justifying it because of high crime in their area kek

i justify it because of the god dam sun and assholes with their led xeon ballast bulb combo and lift kits and brights on aimed at my god dam rearview mirror. tired of feeling lile i'm in an episode of the fucking x-files. i'm not Mulder.

My M3 is 25% tinted all windows except for the front windshield.

I end up cooking even though my car is garaged and my AC is very cold. Black nappa leather to blame. Seat bolsters don't help either. All the heat retains on your back.

I have a 96 4runner with lighter brown cloth seats. Windows are always down and I NEVER sweat or get hot.

Yep, the whole of Chesterfield County VA

Your fucking fault, why are you bitching?

what did you think you were going to get away with something blatantly visible?

>buy car from lot with tint
>nobody ever bothers me

I have no idea about the percentage, I bought the car this way.

It pisses me off that most interior choices these days are limited to black by the mfr. I don't want the car cooking in the sun!

"You don't like the law? Change it." SA-Mann Fritz Müller yelled as Schlomo Rosenberg tried to resist detention.

False equivalence.

The anti-semitic nazi regime persecuted jews just for existing. Whereas illegal tint has to be deliberately applied after the car left the factory.

The situation is the same. He has no possibility to change the law, regardless of how unjustified, stupid or useless it is.

>not just paying 80 dollars for a tint
>buying into the ceramic tint meme

>he has no possibility to change the law

Wrong. We do not live in a totalitarian state. Anyone is more than welcome to propose bills to change our laws. If it gets voted though, then it will become law. It's called democracy.

>this nativity
You're cute

*Naivety

...

Because the rear windows can be whatever the fuck you want.
5% on top of 5%?
Go for it.

I don't understand why tint is illegal in the first place.

Because stupid shits will get 5% tints on their front windshields and be completely blind at night.

>cuck with "le ebin window tint" gets BTFO

good

It's wonderful, isn't it?

It's actually a good thing for drivers to be visible.

>drive without insurance or registration for 4 years
>get insurance and registration
>buy trailer few days later
>get pulled over with unregistered trailer 5 mins after I buy it
>only $30 ticket

That's how it works, blame your own lack of power or that people just don't want what you offer if you can't pass laws.

M A D M A N

got 25% sides 32% rear

It doesn't help at all that the only glass that can't be measured is the legal one, but I do enough driving at night that I didn't want to lose too much visibility. I drive a grandpa car so no trouble

>drive with illegal tint
>never get pulled over

>drive no tint
>never get pulled over

Cops care about things more important than window tint where I live

Sure thing shill, you as well as everyone ITT knows it isn't that easy

this
cops in my area have better things to do
everyone always speeds and they never stop you, they don't have speed traps or stoplight cameras
they're busy responding to real crime instead of completing some dumbshit quota

Some of us don't live in nigger infested places, so our cops get bored because everything is pretty peaceful.

And? That doesn't give them an excuse to become glorified revenue collectors

I agree. However the alternative is the people protect themselves and the government would have a conniption if that happened.

But that's not the point, even in non crime ridden shithole crime still happens, I mean REAL crime like robbery, b&e, destruction of property, things of that nature, I live in a good county but these motherfuckers mainly focus on DWI/DUI, speeding, and other dumb shit like out of date inspections instead of actually trying to prevent real crime, there's no excuse for their bullshit quotas

Tint laws exist so cops can see how many people are in the car and make sure there isn't af gun being pointed at them as they walk up to the window. Pretty simple concept that can save lives

You mean to tell me cops can't see in a car's windows that only let 35% of light in? Horseshit

At night with their lights flashing yes that is exactly what I'm saying!

Wrong, those fucking mag lite can light up a car with 35%

Fuck off shitposter

I had that happen. Printed off a bill of sale before I got it, and had the guy sign it. Went less than 4 miles down a back road doing exactly the speed limit, and as I was signaling to turn into my fucking driveway a local cop went by the other direction.

Manged to talk my way out of the ticket in court though.

>Judges face when listening to the cop.

...

I'm a Mexican and i have the darkest possible tints you could have in your windows and I've never had any problem with the police, because I'm not a US citizen, I'm a Tourist/Shopper and in Mexico tinting your car to ridiculous levels is legal.

>drive a car with no exhaust past the flex pipe
>4 mismatched balding tyres
>Police so woefully underfunded and busy getting stabbed by pikeys i got away with it for around 4 months until the noise got on my nerves.

god bless england
