Online donation

I wanted to donate some money though an international card, to some organization. But, at the donation screen, they requested my completed address. I cancelled the procedure, and e-mailed them, to know if this information is really needed.

The reply was that this request is for my safety, to ensure the card is used by the real owner, and thus prevent that robbers steal my money if my card is stolen. They said it's a "industry best practice", and that they will not share this information with anyone, and their system is secure.

OK. Is this information really needed? I hate to give personal information when it's not needed!!!

donate here

The world is basically a data mining op today. Be really careful about any donations because they will remember and ask for more. Their privacy statement will probably say something about sharing info with third party partners or some shit. Yeah, no it's not needed but wanted.

Just mail them a money order, nigger

It is. It is for yours and their safety.
t. Specialist in scams and 3° world countries.

Nope, I'm not even gonna click this link.

>I hate to give personal information when it's not needed!!!
Lol why

>Be really careful about any donations because they will remember and ask for more.
Asking more doesn't bothers me. Am I not wanting to give money to them anyways?

>Their privacy statement will probably say something about sharing info with third party partners or some shit.
This bothers me, but they said they don't do that.

I didn't even know this existed, before you mentioned it.

What would happen if they didn't ask this information, specialist?

>why
It's not good to be tracked and have my information spread over unknown companies.

Why is that not good? How will this negatively impact you in any way?

>How will this negatively impact you in any way?
For example, donating for Wikileaks will make police pay attention to me. But PayPal and VISA dropped it anyways.

>police will pay attention to me
Maybe stop downloading child porn then

Pay attention to what you read:
>Wikileaks

Ya you delusional faggot i read it correctly. Why should you care that the cops will look at your web traffic? Take off your tinfoil hat nobody is out to get you escobar

>Why should you care that the cops will look at your web traffic?
Military dictatorships? Some people would be targeted for torture due to what they have read on the past, and that would be censored after the military got the power (again).

>Asking more doesn't bothers me. Am I not wanting to give money to them anyways?

Many charities share information. While it can be nice to get huge collections of address label stickers, it's more or less functionally impossible to unsubscribe from the spam.

Hell, some of them will even robocall you, and it's totally legal for nonprofits to harass you, especially when you have a 'prior' relationship.

>While it can be nice to get huge collections of address label stickers
What? You mean mailing me physically? I live on another continent! But I don't want this happening, anyways.

>Military dictatorships
ahahahahahaAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA. Youre an enormous fucking faggot. Kill yourself

Are you aware that I don't live in USA?

Im aware that youre an enormous faggot. Go start your little revolution che. Im sure the feds are hot on your tail for starting the weeaboo party

I'm not starting any revolution, but I don't want to be perceived as enemy of the future regime.

Yep.

Standard practice is they send you envelopes with pictures of puppies/crying children/whatever. Anything to elicit an emotional response and try to guilt you into giving them more money. They also give 'valued members' address labels, which conveniently have some logo or reference to the charity. If you use them, everyone can see that you donated, and it's cheap publicity for the charity. Using them, to me at least, makes you look like a gigantic tool crying for attention. "Look how special I am for supporting this noble cause."

Even 'ecological conservation' charities do it, which is top kek material for me. Save the environment by mailing literal tons of paper and plastic around.

>I'm not starting any revolution, but I don't want to be perceived as enemy of the future regime.

Assuming this isn't bait, why don't you save your money and move to some place that isn't a shithole?

You can donate far more by making more in the first world.

>why don't you save your money and move to some place that isn't a shithole?
Being an illegal immigrant would be worse than living where I am currently now. I only will consider this when the next military dictatorship arises.

Also, in the first world, people earn more money, but needs to spend more money too.

>Standard practice is they send you envelopes with pictures of puppies/crying children/whatever.
This looks like some online petition shared on Jewbook (sofa activism). If they do this, I do not want to support them.

>"Look how special I am for supporting this noble cause."
Greenpeace tried this in my country. Donators could receive a certificate of donation. What the fuck am I supposed to do with this shit, besides being selfish? Obviously I refused.

>Even 'ecological conservation' charities do it, which is top kek material for me. Save the environment by mailing literal tons of paper and plastic around.
This organizations you are referring to are stupid money-earning companies.

So immigrate legally you dumb bitch

>This organizations you are referring to are stupid money-earning companies.

Not exactly. It's better for the 'cause' to earn 10 million dollars, and spend 30% of it on getting more money, than to earn 5 million and spend 98%.

I just have objections to it. It's fucking annoying, and morally dubious.

Where the fuck do you live?

And for what it's worth, yeah, you need to spend more, but you can live decently on 20,000 a year in the US. You just can't live in major cities. That's really very little money.

Immigration isn't so much difficult as it is time consuming.

People can't migrate to Europe or North America and live there indefinitely if they are not some super-special people working on Google. The license is only to work for some time, and then go back to home country.

Not even remotely true

>Where the fuck do you live?
South America.

>That's really very little money.
US$20,000 is much money. Last year I was paid the equivalent of US$333...

>Immigration isn't so much difficult as it is time consuming.
Could you please talk a little more about this?

You have no clue about this. People come in on visa's all the time and overstay. It fucks up their ability to become a citizen, but they just stay off the radar doing tradie work.

You can easily renew student visas for years. There's avenues for applying for asylum.

Considering how uninterested in this you seem to be, I have to question how afraid you actually are. You have the internet at your fingertips obviously. Instead of looking to improve your life, you're here on Veeky Forums talking about spending money on charities.

I'm not much interested in migrating now. I'm interested in donating, you're right about this.

>US$20,000 is much money. Last year I was paid the equivalent of US$333...

Missing the point. 20,000 can be earned in a summer doing labor. There's always places looking for people to do framing, roofing, sheetrocking, and painting.

Hell, Louisiana just had some incredibly heavy flooding. They can't hire people fast enough. Buy some 2000 dollar Japanese shitbox car, get a gym membership and live in your car. You won't freeze to death in the south.

Fuck off troll

Look who is saying this.

never give out your real info ever!
i regged paypal with only phony data and they never caught on.

it really has nothing to do with your safety but the cia want's to know who sends money to whom.

you are the underage fag m8.

How the fuck is having a certificate "being selfish"?

i think it is one of the many ways these companies make the money disappear.

like i have a charity running for starving african children, but my cousin or wife has a printing business. so when you donate me $10 i will use $5 of this to print a nice little thank you card for you and an other $2 to post it. $2 will go to maintenance and other expenses and maybe $1 will reach the starving children but i'm really being optimistic here.

My PayPal was registered some years ago, so it probably has real information. What to do now?

>the cia want's to know who sends money to whom
I already know this. And I don't like.

Are you joining Scientology?

Certificates are to show to another person. Why would I show a certificate of donation? What is more important, the cause or the fact that I donated? For donating like US$5 am I more special? See >Using them, to me at least, makes you look like a gigantic tool crying for attention. "Look how special I am for supporting this noble cause."

Nope.
Why did you ask about this specific organization?

Good vision!
