Is this a steal?

is this a steal?

sup sc bro.

it's almost a 20 year old vehicle. run the vin as always

It's a steal for the seller

you definitely should haggle that shit down, but not bad if it's in good shape

>Shortbed

If it were a crew cab 4x4 MAYBE maybe

beds not even short desu

A little overpriced. The 4.6l is a bulletproof engine the 5.4 isn't as good

It's the second worst 90s fullsize pickup you can possibly buy.

Just forget 10th gen Fords in general. They're terrible.

which would you recomend for under $5000

C/K series
9th gen F series
2nd gen Ram 2500/3500 IF it is 100% rust free.

3/4 ton being preferred for both the GM and Ford. The stronger drivetrains hold up better and last longer.

Any things a steal if your black.

no there not

>not getting a f650

>not spending a fraction of the money on a real big boy 5 ton truck with six wheel drive

Casual.

>taking the bait

Psh. Got myself a better F150 just this week for 600 bucks.

Oh, and it came with the toolbox. With tools in it. My neighbor is a cool dude.

>2nd gen Ram 2500/3500 IF it is 100% rust free.
I like them too but dem trannys and those ball bearings be shit.

>and those ball bearings
What ball bearings would those be?

Front ball bearings can't support the 5.9 in there.

Rear end is good shit though.

OP, fuck all these nerds.
Mine lasted to 400k miles, and the last 40k without an oil change because I'm a piece of shit.
Engine never died, but it was also the (bulletproof) 4.2 V6.
Only reason it died was an electrical problem that made every light stay on when it was off.

I've heard more complaints about the front axle u-joints. Never heard any issues with bearings. What axle is this an issue on?

Don't know, I heard the front end on those things were weak as the trannys.

>2wd
>auto
No

>le epic automatic meme

How the fuck does it being a automatic matter?

Auto's are better in trucks retard. ever try to shift in 4wd while carrying a bunch of weight?

>I like them too but dem trannys and those ball bearings be shit.
Deeper gears in the 2500/3500 ease some of the strain on the transmission.

>ball bearings
No idea what you're referring to. If it's the ball joints, the heavy 5.9 (Cummins) is going to come with a D60 front with much larger ball joints that do support the weight. If you're referring to wheel bearings, the 2nd gen uses unit bearings, which are likely a combination of tapered roller bearings and needle bearings, no ball bearings. And again, the diesels are going to come with larger unit bearings that hold up to the weight better.
