It'd probably mean something if they actually tried to use Ecoboost to beat Ferrari in Formula One if their trying to repeat the results of the 1960s with the last Ford GT when Ferrari use to focus on Le-mans. as of now F1 is the only thing Ferrari cares about and since the Road-going Ford GT won't touch the La-Ferrari (their fastest production car) they don't really have anything to lose sleep over and probably see the whole thing by Ford as them just trying to be cute.
