Fact: The 3.5L EcoBoost engine is better than an LT4 engine for performance.

And rotary is superior to ecoshit

It's not shit though.

OHC>pushrods

You need to slow down. The other thread is still up.

The corvette engine will take mileage because Chevy expects people to drive their cars so they design engines around that idea.

While Ford is probably counting on the faggots NOT driving these things so they can maintain their values. The GT is a trailer queen just like the last one is.

And with all those turbos and shit to boost the ecoboost's power it'll no doubt be even higher maintenance than the vette will be as it'll wear down twice as fast.

Hi bro.

I'm so far up Ford and Mazda's ass that I still drive my ranger and defend it for no good reason.

Stop spamming these threads and let me let you in on a little secret:

>The 6 cylinder Ecoboosts are just the practice for the big boy 8 and 10 cylinder engines. Mark my fucking words. Ford will be cranking out twin turbo 351s and 460s before the end of the next decade.

Don't you have anything better to do with your time, op? Think of your family.

Fact: Putting a v6 in a direct descendant to the GT40 is an insult to everything Carol Shelby and the GT40 name stand for

I'm disappointed son...

It like the gt40s great grandson is gay...but that's okay nowadays...

doesnt the vette blow itself up? I mean until the GT is released we wont be able to know its issues. But it's not like the lt4 shaped up to be tough competition in reliability or power

so ford built the new NSX

>factory twin-turbo V8 EcoBoost

I'm okay with this.

So Ford Built a Lotus Espirit

Everybody would be OK with a twinturbo Voodoo, with some Ecoboost badges slapped onto it, into a new GT500.

This V6 POS in ford's halo car is shit though.

Look up 2017 GT 500

The engine itself is not the problem

Its a fine engine

But if the Snek came back with a V6
Or the Corvette Z06 got a I4....no matter what performance it would be blasphemous to the namesake of the car

The gt40 shouldn't be Ford's test bed for eco...it should be the proud, beat my chest cry to the good ol days

I agree with this, If they wanted to venture into the "New Age" why didn't they Drop the GT name and give it something else? why don't they go all out and give it different design cues the likes of which we've never seen on a Ford car. isn't it a bundle of irony to hold onto a name and car as well as base its entire advertisement campaign around it "beating ferrari" when all of that is in the past? Enzo Ferrari is gone, the last time the GT won anything note worthy was in the 60s and Ferrari doesn't care about Le-mans anymore. F1 is their sole focus. if they really wanted to get under Ferrari's craw why not beat them there?

Kinda wish they did the same thing they did when making the "New edge" mustang. they tried to make something that looked really different from a traditional "Pony" car.

Drop the GT name, Give the car new styling cues that don't tie to the old GT and give it a new name.

"Ford EcoFlyer" (pulling names off the top of my head but you get what i mean)

If they wanted to show the kiddies that Ecoboost can be cool and edgy too and give them something to dream about like all those lamborghinis they have posters of a design that shares nothing in common with what their grand-parents lusted after might be ideal.

I always wished the Cobra R had a supercharger.

The first few production z06's blew themselves up. Chevy sorted that out already.

If you've ever seen superspeeders on Youtube, you might have seen Rob's old Mustang Cobra R. He said he sold it because the front splitter would make the car handle like shit and anything above 100mph would have the car bouncing up and down like crazy (despite Ford claiming that it was tested up to 250+ miles per hour). It's just another gimmicky car that is only popular because of its rarity.

having Veeky Forums as your only source of industry news is a bad idea lol

I don't see anything wrong with that. I agree with rarity = popularity because that's how a ton of older cars gained attention, even though they absolutely suck, but if someone wants one and has tye money to spend then why not?

I figured it would handle pretty good.

There's a track called Waterford Hills (which i think is like the American Touge) where the Cobra R is only a second slower than a 2008 GTR and its 3 seconds faster than an E92 M3 (a car that weighs less and has more power) i figure those aerodynamics must be doing something right because on some tracks it actually seems like a heavy hitter.

Fact: OP is a faggot

im gay

>the V6 in Ford's halo car is shit though
It isn't though, dumbfuck.
The only insult is the 05' GT, it never even beat Ferrari.
>ford will be cranking out twin turbo 351s and 460s
No, they won't. There's this little thing called emission standards. The only possible way that will happen is if they combine hybrid technology, but Ford isn't a fan of that because they don't like unnecessary weight.
